A small fire broke out at the Standard-Examiner building Monday morning. Within minutes, multiple crews were on the scene and the blaze was quickly extinguished.

“We want to express our gratitude to our local firefighters,” said Jim Konig, publisher of the Standard-Examiner. “They showed up quickly and went to work to ensure both our employees and our building were protected. We appreciate their professionalism and dedication in being ready to serve in our community.”

There were no injuries from the fire and damage was contained. Although the building was evacuated briefly, employees were able to quickly return to work.
