Susan Lee named official winner in Davis County Commission race; full election results

The Davis County Board of Canvassers officially certified the results of the 2026 primary election during the Davis County Commission meeting Tuesday.

In the two closest races involving Davis County candidates, Republicans Susan Lee and Jon Atkin prevailed – Lee over two-term incumbent Lorene Kamalu in the race for County Commission Seat B and Atkin over Aaron Perry in the sheriff race.

According to the final tally, Lee pulled in 50.89% of the votes (22,387 votes), while Kamalu received 49.11% (21,601 votes) – a margin of 786 votes.

Atkin defeated Perry 51.12% (22,104 votes) to 48.88% (21,133 votes) – a margin of 971 votes.

Lee now moves on to face Bret Millburn in the general election. Millburn filed as an unaffiliated candidate on June 16. Atkin does not have an opponent for the general election.

Other Davis County races

In the Senate District 6 Republican primary, Kaysville Mayor Tami Tran defeated Robert Wanlass 70.64% (8,289 votes) to 29.36% (3,445 votes).

In the House District 14 Republican primary, Jon Taylor defeated Kara Toone 56.66% (2,277 votes) to 43.34% (1,742 votes).

In the House District 16 Republican primary, Davis County Commissioner Bob Stevenson defeated two-term incumbent Trevor Lee 65.16% (3,453 votes) to 34.84% (1,846 votes).

In the House District 17 Republican primary, Lili Bitner defeated Sam Barlow 70.36% (4,986 votes) to 29.64% (2,100 votes).

In the Davis County Commission Seat A Republican primary, former Bountiful Mayor Kendalyn Harris defeated Scott Fletcher and John Adams. Harris received 42.77% (18,910 votes), Fletcher received 31.16% (13,776 votes) and Adams received 26.07% (11,528 votes).

In the Davis County Clerk Republican primary, incumbent Brian McKenzie defeated Jona Whitesides 62.57% (27,258 votes) to 37.43% (16,308 votes).

In the Senate District 5 Democratic primary, Christina “CJ” Hernandez defeated Dakota Wurth 57.31% (2,120 votes) to 42.69% (1,579 votes).

In the Senate District 7 Republican primary, Stephanie Hollist defeated Senate President Stuart Adams and Braden Hess. Hollist received 43.13% (7,724 votes), Adams received 34.13% (6,112 votes) and Hess received 22.75% (4,074 votes).

Weber County

The Weber County Commission also certified the results of the election Tuesday.

In the Weber County Commission Seat A Republican primary, Duane Kearsley defeated James Ebert, Katrina Gibson and Richard Hyer. Kearsley received 31.22% (7,301 votes), Ebert received 25.86% (6,047 votes), Gibson received 25.23% (5,899 votes) and Hyer received 17.68% (4,135 votes).

In the Weber County Commission Seat B Republican primary, former Plain City Mayor Jon Beesley defeated incumbent Sharon Bolos 55.57% (13,043 votes) to 44.43% (10,430 votes).
