Three candidates have been added to the list of qualified applicants for the Ogden City Council, bringing the total number of qualified applicants to 12.

Heath Satow, J. Levi Andersen and John Thompson are the three most recent additions.

Satow’s conflict-of-interest disclosure lists him as the owner of Heath Satow Sculpture.

Andersen’s conflict-of-interest disclosure lists him as a history teacher at Mound Fort Junior High in the Ogden School District.

Thompson’s conflict-of-interest disclosure lists him as retired from the U.S. Marine Corps.

Other qualified applicants are: Jeremy Peterson, Arlene Anderson, Jeffrey Heiner, Alexander Castagno, Sheri Morreale, Eric Holmes, Jeremy Shinoda, Jose Torres and Rick Southwick.

The applicants are vying for At Large Seat C, which is being vacated by Council member Shaun Myers, who is leaving to be in the presidency of the Ogden temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The application window opened July 5 and closes at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Those interested must submit a resume, a letter of interest, a conflict-of-interest disclosure form and a campaign finance form in person to the Ogden City recorder, located on the second floor of the Municipal Building, 2549 Washington Blvd.

Applicants will be interviewed at the City Council meeting at 5 p.m. July 21, and the appointed candidate will be determined after the interviews that day.

Myers’ resignation will take effect July 31, and the appointed candidate will take office Aug. 1. The appointed candidate will complete Myers’ term, which ends January 2028.
