Letter: Becoming an American citizen

Mar 8, 2025

Editor:

A response to a letter 2-25. In order to become an American citizen, there is a process in which to do so. First you apply for and complete a rigorous agenda. Is it an easy task? No. However you must first be able to speak read, write, and understand our language called English.

Then and only then when that process is completed, and any births become “birthright” citizens. Not just because one or the other or both parents do not what is required of the process of becoming an American citizen.

Our way early ancestors were here before our constitution was ever envisioned. I’m not bias, but …

Personally, I don’t care what language is native to you. Please by all means use it within your own get group. Just don’t try to force it on me.

I have several friends and their families, who have ben through the “citizen” process and I enjoy being in their company.

Pres. Ronald Reagan once said, “If we ever forget we are a nation under God then we will be a nation that goes under.” Term limitations must be placed for congress to keep them in check. When you figure most of them were broke when they go in, those same people are now multi millionaires. They have been robbing us blind for decades. Shame on them and shame on us for allowing it to happen. We all need to be better stewards of our country, ourselves, and our fellow man.

I submit the ones crying the loudest about DOGE checking into the billions of dollars unaccounted for, are the ones who have been on the wrong side of the dollar ledger and are afraid of being caught with their hands in the “cookie jar”. If they have done nothing wrong, then they have nothing to fear.
