With the November 8th election only a few weeks off, we want to share why we whole-heartedly support Evan McMullin as the Independent candidate against the incumbent Mike Lee for U.S. Senate.

1. Evan is a proven patriot and defender of our Constitution, having worked in C.I.A. counter-terrorism across the Mideast and Asia for a decade after the 9/11 attacks on our Country. In contrast, despite holding himself out in Congress as a Constitutional defender, Lee frantically sought ways to support Donald Trump’s stealing the 2020 election right up to the certification vote following the insurrection on January 6th.

2. Evan is a political centrist, who is committed to working on a bipartisan basis to pass legislation that moves our Country forward. Over his 12 years in the Senate, Lee has proven to be an ineffective legislator. He has sponsored and gotten enacted only a dozen insignificant bills (e.g., half of which involved naming or renaming public buildings). More importantly, Lee rarely has promoted bipartisan legislation and remains a cog in the Republican Senate bloc.

3. Evan vehemently opposes Donald Trump’s cult-of-personality rule as a threat to our democratic form of government. In a recent rally Trump had the audacity to compare himself to Jesus Christ. Not to be outdone, Lee previously compared Trump to the heroic Captain Moroni in The Book of Mormon. No elected official should be hailed as God or Saint: deification is a hallmark of Roman emperors, but has no place in American democracy.

Evan McMullin is the far superior candidate to Mike Lee where it matters. In terms of patriotism, Evan’s actions speak louder than Lee’s words. In terms of governance, Evan seeks progress through bipartisan legislation, not Lee’s continued party warfare. In terms of democratic values, Evan demonstrates a “courage to lead” instead of Lee’s servitude to Trump’s cult of personality.

Please join us in voting for Evan! Together, we can move our Country forward on a bipartisan basis, which is what every true patriot–whether Republican, Democrat or Independent in political hue–should want for America.
