Letter: In response to recent guest commentary

Nov 13, 2023

I’m not sure what Mr. Headlee’s purpose is, but I have to strongly disagree.

I have 4 prescriptions that I have renewed regularly for many years and every time I’m required to receive close to 20 pages of PMI that I don’t need or want. When I asked the pharmacist not to print them, he said he’s required by law to do so. These documents contain PII, so I can’t just throw them out, I have to shred them. If they ever were of any use (I’m a degreed physicist and they don’t make much sense with all the legalese) they’re long past being useful to me. I’m not opposed to the purpose of PMI, I’d just like to be able to say no.
