I am writing to express my support for the implementation of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Ecuadorian immigrants who have been residing in the United States for many years, and can’t return to Ecuador due to the civil unrest and unsafety.

TPS for Ecuador would offer eligible Ecuadorian immigrants the opportunity to obtain work authorizations, enabling them to continue contributing actively to our economy. Ecuadorian immigrants are integral members of our communities, working as educators, construction workers, and in various other essential roles. These individuals have built their lives here, and TPS would provide them with the security and stability necessary to continue their positive contributions.

Moreover, granting TPS for Ecuador would not only benefit the individuals directly impacted but also our economy and communities as a whole. By providing work authorizations, these individuals will continue using their skills and talents to drive economic growth and innovation.

As a nation also built by immigrants, it is imperative that we support and protect those who have made the United States their home. I urge Secretary Mayorkas to take swift and decisive action in granting TPS for Ecuadorian immigrants, thereby providing them with the opportunity to continue contributing to our nation’s prosperity.
