Letter: Popular country song gives terrible driving advice
The song by Carrie Underwood, Jesus Take The Wheel which became very famous & made her so popular it’s such a stupid song. The reason for that is it tells about how her faith is running low (& if she still goes to church you are taught you’re supposed to pray when you’re losing your faith.) 2nd you’re taught in drivers-ed or whoever taught you to drive not to take your eyes off the road. Besides if you were coming up to a yellow-light & throw your hands in the air that’s not enough time to pray. (3) She told Jesus to take the wheel. Of course you can’t drive the car & it doesn’t drive on its own when you take your hands off of the steering wheel in the 1st place. How can Jesus help you when you let go of the steering wheel on your own in the 1st place. If you’re driving too fast you try to swerve out of the way not keep going. Even Joseph Smith in the grove of trees got down on his knees with the appearance of the lord while he was praying to find the true church. I have the C.D. Now That’s What I Call Country Songs of Inspiration since 3/16/18. I just finally opened it because I like the other songs on it. And I wasn’t going to let 1 stupid song ruin it for me. So how can a person who’s supposed to be such a bright person write and sing a very stupid song & become so famous from it when the song doesn’t make any sense like they’re supposed to.
