Letter: The opportunity for change doesn’t occur very often

Oct 28, 2024

Changes in our elected officials don’t occur very often. In fact, the past two Ogden mayors were in office for about 12 years each, and in Caldwell’s case, not for the right reasons. We have an opportunity for change now in our Weber County commissioners and need to take advantage of it. Never before has the voice of dissatisfaction been louder with a majority of Ogden Valley residents voting to put incorporation on this November’s ballot due in part to the lack of representation of the Valley’s interests. Steven Van Wagoner will be coming into the County Commissioner position knowing this and will work collaboratively with whatever form of government the Valley takes. Steven Van Wagoner will represent the County’s interests and not a chosen few. It is long past the time for change in Weber County government. The window of opportunity for change is open.
