Letter: Word to the wise — Don’t mail money or gift cards
I’m writing to warn one and all not to send birthday, anniversary, or sympathy cards with money nor gift cards through the mail, and here’s why. I have recently sent out 4 birthday cards to Texas to relatives, one had the back of the envelope sliced open from the back and the gift card taken out. My niece did receive the card, but not the gift. On another one I sent a nephew a card with $20, and he never received it. This month I sent out two, one to San Antonio and the other to Portland Texas without money or gift cards in them, and they were both cut open. So, word to the wise, don’t send money or gift cards through the United States postal system or suffer the consequences. I’m still awaiting a certified letter from Texas that was sent on the 19th of August and they keep telling me that it’s in transit.
