Letters: Energy efficiency tax credit isn’t wasted funding
I’m all in for saving taxpayer dollars that get wasted, abused, spent frivolously. The 25C tax credit should not be cut from the budget, this tax credit is for upgrading energy efficiency in existing homes and buildings for insulation etc. in addition the utility companies still have rebates that are funded through surcharges that we pay on our utility bills. In most cases by the time people upgrade their energy efficiency, collect their rebates and the 25C tax credit along with what they saved on energy consumption it more than pays for itself. By producing more energy through ALL sources and consuming less energy becomes cheaper for everyone. This 25C tax credit should be considered and America 1st. policy instead of Trillions sent overseas.
