Wildfires are a greater risk for Utah residents with the recent climb in summer temperatures. To help Utahns stay safe and aware of wildfires in their counties, we put together this timeline of Utah summer wildfires thus far.
June 12: Draper brush fire, Over 20 acres, lightning-sparked
June 17: Duchesne County, 290 acres, lightning-sparked
June 21: Little Mountain brush fire, 39 acres, set off by downed power lines
June 28: Tooele, 438 acres, lightning-sparked
July 1: Cedar City, Multiple fires affecting multiple counties, lightning-sparked
July 4: Summit County, About six acres, shut down State Route 32 until 9 p.m. that night, possibly vehicle started

Predictions for this year’s wildfire season were mostly optimistic in May, and there are 10,000 firefighter ready to deploy around the state to prevent spreading and preserve human life.
