Ogden police identify woman who died in crash on Harrison Boulevard
OGDEN — Police have identified a woman who died in a fatal crash on Harrison Boulevard Thursday.
The woman who died in the crash was Brenda Gallegos, 51, according to Lt. Will Cragun of the Ogden Police Department. Cragun was unable to confirm which city Gallegos was from, but the Salt Lake Tribune reported she’s from Ogden.
Gallegos was pronounced dead at the scene of the two-vehicle, head-on crash at about 11 a.m. Thursday near the 1800 block of S. Harrison Boulevard.
Police said in a news release that a Ford Focus was traveling south when it drifted into oncoming traffic and collided with a Chevrolet Tahoe traveling north.
Gallegos was a passenger in the Ford Focus, the release said. The driver of the Ford was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The driver and passenger of the Chevrolet were not injured in the crash, police said.
Due to the accident, southbound lanes on Harrison Boulevard were closed between 16th Street and 20th Street for several hours.
