Wildfire destroys 5 acres of land plus motorcycle, snowmobile in Box Elder
DEWEYVILLE — A wildfire in Box Elder County destroyed a trailer, a motorcycle, two lawnmowers, a snowmobile and more than 5 acres of land Sunday morning, officials say.
County spokesman Mitch Zundel said the fire started around 9 a.m. Sunday, July 23, near Deweyville. The fire threatened several structures, he said, but crews from Garland, Tremonton and Fielding fire departments were able to stop the wildfire before it damaged them.
Zundel said the fire burned 5.5 acres of land and, as of noon Sunday, was 100 percent contained. The cause of the fire was not released, but Zundel said the fire is under investigation.
