Police identify Garland teen as Hyrum reservoir drowning victim

HYRUM — A teenage boy who drowned at Hyrum State Park Friday has been identified. 

Judd Miller, 18, of Garland died Friday, May 25, after jumping from the “Big Toe” cliff area in the reservoir, according to the Cache County Sheriff’s Office

The teen was with a group of around 40 youth visiting the park, according to The Herald Journal. Witnesses saw Miller jump into the water, resurface, then go back under the water, apparently struggling to swim. 

Emergency crews were called to the park around 2:30 p.m. Friday. Miller’s body was recovered around 8:30 p.m. that evening.
