Idaho killings of former Ogden residents, once again, the focus of national TV show

CALDWELL, Id. — Former Ogden resident Gerald “Mike” Bullinger, the main suspect in the Idaho murders of three former Ogden residents, will once again be the focus of a national TV show.

Investigation Discovery announced Tuesday that Bullinger will be the focus of the newest episode of “In Pursuit with John Walsh,” according to a press release.

The show, which premiered earlier this year, will focus on Bullinger and the 2017 murders of three women — Bullinger’s wife, Cheryl Baker, 56; Nadja Medley, 48, and her 14-year-old daughter, Payton Medley.

All three were found June 19, 2017 at Bullinger’s property in Caldwell, Idaho.

Police say the three bodies were found near a shed and covered with a tarp, and each victim died from single gunshot wounds.

Investigators say the bodies had been decomposing for “several days” before they were found.

Baker’s identity was made public by police on June 30, over a week after the bodies were discovered. Police said in a press release that the Canyon County Coroner’s Office used dental records to confirm Baker’s identity.

The three women and Bullinger had recently moved to Idaho from the Ogden area, according to police.

Walsh’s show will feature interviews with investigators and officers who discovered the three bodies, including Canyon County Sheriff Kieran Donahue and Sgt. Charles Gentry, an investigator in the case.

This is the second national television show to feature the Bullinger case. Crime Watch Daily, a nationally syndicated investigative TV show, brought the case to the national level, Joe Decker, a public information officer for Canyon County, told the Standard-Examiner in January 2018.

The show closely examined the relationship between Bullinger and Nadja Medley. Police were never able to completely confirm that Bullinger and Medley were in a romantic relationship prior to the murders, but based on social media, interviews and other publicly available information, police have been “led to believe” the two were in a romantic relationship. It was also unclear if Medley and Baker had knowledge of each other prior to the murders.

The Crime Watch Daily episode also interviews Donahue as he leads an investigator around Bullinger’s Caldwell property where the bodies were found.

The search for Bullinger is ongoing and has not been resolved. On July 12, 2017, police found a car believed to be Bullinger’s abandoned in Bridger-Teton National Forest, near its border with the Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. A few days later, police received reports that Bullinger may have been spotted in eastern Idaho.

Police still consider Bullinger to be armed and dangerous.
