BOUNTIFUL — Police on Wednesday arrested a 20-year-old woman on suspicion of allegedly stabbing four people Saturday, trying to cover up evidence and tampering with witnesses.

Mia Hansen allegedly threatened two juveniles with a knife in the parking lot of the Bountiful mountainside B and the reported victims tried to disarm her, according to a Bountiful Police Department probable cause statement. During the altercation, four people were injured by the knife, including two who were hospitalized with serious injuries. One victim, a juvenile, remained hospitalized Wednesday, police said.

After the knifings, Hansen drove to Farmington Pond and allegedly instructed a companion to throw the bloody knife into a dumpster, the arrest affidavit said. Hansen and two others returned to the dumpster on Sunday. The others later told police that Hansen retrieved the knife, soaked it in bleach, put it in a bag and stored it in her trunk.

Police said they got a warrant Saturday to search Hansen’s car. They reported finding two knives, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a bloody towel and an open bottle of vodka. Officers obtained a second warrant later and confiscated a knife found in the trunk inside a bag.

Before the knife incident, Hansen allegedly threatened to kill the two juveniles, the arrest affidavit said.

Hansen was booked into the Davis County Jail and ordered held without bail on suspicion of two counts of second-degree felony aggravated assault and two third-degree felony assault charges, plus counts of witness tampering, obstruction of justice and possession of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.
