“The structure was burned to the foundation and was in a construction phase that made it vulnerable to fire. Northing is left standing,” Mike Slater, deputy chief, said in a text message.

The fire was first called in at 12:34 a.m. Saturday and, according to Slater, was put out about an hour into the incident. Damage was done to signs and landscaping of neighboring businesses, though there were no structural impacts, according to a news release.

Members of the Ogden, South Ogden, Washington Terrace and Roy fire departments responded to the fire with 30 firefighters, three ladder trucks, two fire engines, two ambulances, one paramedic truck and the battalion chief, the release said.

The cause of the investigation is still underway by the Fire Marshal’s office. As of Saturday afternoon, Slater said officials are still interviewing people to determine the cause of the fire and “will begin to start piecing things together.”
