OGDEN — An Ogden man already facing charges related to an October shooting death now is accused of stabbing a man in a fight at a downtown bar a month later.

Timothy Ryan Robinson, 43, was booked into the Weber County Jail on Tuesday, charged with second-degree felony aggravated assault and third-degree felony use of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person in the Nov. 17 stabbing at Historic Place, 162 25th St.

Robinson was arguing with another man, drew a knife and allegedly stabbed him as the two grappled, according to an Ogden police probable cause statement. The stabbing victim was taken to a local hospital for emergency surgery.

The victim later told police he began arguing with Robinson because the man allegedly had previously assaulted his friend. Robinson allegedly admitted to officers that he preemptively armed himself when he saw the victim at the bar.

On Jan. 3, the Weber County Attorney’s Office charged Robinson with two counts of second-degree obstruction of justice for allegedly helping a man cover up evidence related to the Oct. 2 fatal shooting of Jonathan Brewer, 31, at an Ogden apartment. Three other people face charges in that case.

Starting at $4.32/week.
