OGDEN — A Taylorsville woman allegedly threatened to kill her ex-husband, telling him she was “OK with a murder-suicide,” before an Ogden police officer ordered her to drop the handgun.

Valerie Velez, 46, showed up at the man’s Ogden home on Wednesday night and refused to leave, according to an Ogden Police Department probable cause statement. He tried to separate himself from her, going into his garage, and called 911.

She allegedly drew a handgun from a pocket and ordered him back into the house. A police officer said he arrived and Velez allegedly tried to close the garage door. The officer got into the garage and saw Velez allegedly pointing a handgun at the ex-husband.

The officer told her to drop the gun and she did so. He said he found that the gun was loaded.

Velez was ordered held at the Weber County Jail on suspicion of first-degree felony aggravated burglary and third-degree felony aggravated assault.
