WEST HAVEN — The Weber County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal motorcycle collision that occurred Monday evening.

According to a press release from Lt. Colby Ryan, a report was received at 9:15 p.m. Monday of a crash involving a motorcycle at 3330 S. Midland Drive in West Haven.

“A sport utility vehicle was traveling westbound on Midland Drive, the victim’s motorcycle traveling west bound behind the SUV when the motorcycle rider appeared to lose control and was ejected from the motorcycle,” a subsequent press release sent Tuesday afternoon stated. “A motorcycle that was traveling eastbound on Midland Dr collided with the downed motorcyclist. All other parties were treated and released from the scene (but) unfortunately the rider of motorcycle #1 succumbed to his injuries.”

“Upon arrival deputies and medical staff from Weber Fire started CPR on the driver of the motorcycle … who unfortunately succumbed to his injuries,” the initial release said. “Weber County Sheriff’s Office would like to send our heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.”

The victim was identified as an 18-year-old West haven resident. A full identification will be released upon notification of family, the sheriff’s office said.

The case remains under investigation at this time.
