Hooper shooting leaves man with critical injuries; female detained

OGDEN — A man suffered critical injuries in a shooting in Hooper late Tuesday night, according to the Weber County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials received a report from a female shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday who said she had shot someone, according to a sheriff’s office statement. Deputies responded to a residential area of Hooper roughly in the 6200 West block of 5700 South, finding a 43-year-old man with a gunshot wound at a home in the area. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
“The female suspect was apprehended a short distance away from the residence and is now in custody,” said the sheriff’s office. “This appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the community.”
The investigation continues and officials didn’t release any additional information.
