ROY — A Roy man was arrested for the alleged sexual abuse of multiple minors, according to a police report, and the Roy City Police Department is seeking information amid the possibility of additional victims.

Jack Eric Arnell, 35, was arrested without incident at the Salt Lake International Airport on Saturday and later transported to Roy. He’s charged with seven counts of sodomy on a child, three counts of forcible sodomy and five counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child — all first-degree felonies — for incidents involving children of varying ages over a period of multiple years.

One of the children indicated that Arnell had given them gifts in exchange for secrecy, according the police report. A search warrant was served at the residence where the abuse allegedly took place, and items described during the victims’ interviews were seized by authorities.

The report indicated that Arnell was out of the country on a work trip at the time the search was performed. It was further indicated that the alleged abuse occurred as recently as the days preceding the the trip.

Per an affidavit of probable cause for the case, Arnell provided details during his interview with officers that corroborated the victims’ accounts of what transpired.

On Tuesday, Roy police put out the following statement via social media:

“On 2/24/2024, detectives with the Roy City Police Department arrested 35-year-old Jack Arnell on multiple child sex-related charges. If you or anyone you know have been affected in such a way by Arnell, please contact Detective Pearson by calling Weber Area Dispatch at 801-395-8221.”

Arnell is currently being held without bail in the Weber County Jail.
