Firefighters battle a blaze at an apartment complex in the 300 block of 32nd Street on Monday, Aug. 4, 2025.OGDEN — Several people were displaced following a fire at an apartment complex Monday night.
According to a press release from the Ogden City Fire Department, crews were called to a structure fire in the 300 block of 32nd Street around 11:03 p.m.
“Upon arrival, units discovered smoke and flame coming from the windows and roof of a multi-level apartment building,” the release said. “Firefighters acted swiftly and aggressively to search the structure and get water on the fire. The fire had consumed a large portion of the attic space; once the search was completed and the apartments evacuated crews moved to a defensive posture to protect exposed buildings. Once fire conditions improved, crews reentered the building to extinguish fire in hidden roof lines and knee walls. Due to the rapid response and coordinated efforts of the crews on scene, the fire was successfully extinguished.”
The release stated that several people were displaced by the fire, which is now under investigation.
“The Ogden Fire Marshal’s Office is currently investigating the cause and origin of the fire. The structure has been secured, and the initial damage estimates are approximately $1,000,000. Red Cross was contacted to assist 13 residents that were displaced.”
No injuries were reported among the residents, though a firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion.
The release also noted that 32 total firefighters from the Ogden and Riverdale fire departments fought the blaze.
