A house fire in the 2200 block of Taylor Avenue caused around $50,000 in damages Monday, June 30, 2025.

OGDEN — No injuries were reported following a fire Monday morning.

According to a press release from the Ogden Fire Department, crews were summoned to a structure fire in the 2200 block of Taylor Avenue around 7:08 a.m. and, upon arrival, smoke and flames were coming from the window of a single-family home.

“Firefighters acted fast and had water on the fire within minutes,” the release said. “The blaze was contained to the structure or origin even with high winds pushing the fire. Firefighters quickly searched the home, and all residents were accounted for outside of the structure. Due to the rapid response and coordinated efforts of the crews on scene, the fire was successfully extinguished.”

The release added that the home had a leaking gas meter and Enbridge was called to the scene to deal with the leak. The Red Cross is also helping out the family that lived in the residence.

In an email to the Standard-Examiner, Ogden Deputy Fire Chief Michael Slater said the fire is under investigation at this time and he is unsure of whether the fire was related to the leak in the gas meter or if these were separate issues.

He added that around $50,000 in damages to the home were reported.
