Per a release from the Utah Highway Patrol, Box Elder County Dispatch received notice at approximately 10:49 a.m. that a black Range Rover that had been pursued by police in Idaho was approaching the Utah state line. After troopers from Box Elder and the Tremonton Police Department moved toward Interstate 84, the suspect vehicle was located by police on I-84 southbound near milepost 26.

“As the officer turned around on the Range Rover, it sped off at a high rate of speed,” the release noted.

Troopers stationed near milepost 32 later witnessed the vehicle taking the corresponding exit, after which it reentered the freeway at a high rate of speed, according to the release. It was further noted that troopers ultimately caught up to the Range Rover and initiated a pursuit, which continued until the vehicle entered southbound Interstate 15.

Once the southbound Range Rover advanced beyond Brigham City, Weber County officials were notified, prompting troopers to set up road spikes near mile marker 349 on I-15, per the release. Troopers from Box Elder reportedly broke off their pursuit at mile marker 351 as the vehicle approached the county line.

The interstate chase ended shortly thereafter, according to the release, when troopers successfully spiked the Range Rover near milepost 349. The adult female driver and her adult male passenger were both arrested by UHP without further incident, per the release. Their identities have not been released.

“Both subjects were booked into the Box Elder County Jail on felony charges,” the release noted.
