Ogden man dies in Idaho after fiery crash with semitruck

GOODING COUNTY, Idaho — A 69-year-old Ogden man is dead following a collision with a semitruck in southern Idaho on Wednesday afternoon.
According to a release from the Idaho State Police, the fatal crash occurred at around 12:43 p.m. near milepost 141 on Interstate 84 east of Bliss in Gooding County. The man was traveling west I-84 in a 2019 Nissan Frontier pulling a cargo trailer when the vehicle crossed the median and struck a semitruck pulling a 2020 utility trailer, per the release.
Both vehicles caught fire as a result of the crash, ISP reported. The Ogden man died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash. It is unknown whether he was wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the semitruck, a 43-year-old New York man, and his passenger, a 23-year-old Indiana man, were wearing seatbelts and did not receive medical transport, according to police.
The identities of those involved in the crash have not been released by ISP.
I-84 was blocked for approximately six hours after the crash as emergency personnel assisted those involved and cleared the scene. The incident remains under investigation.
