OGDEN — A second suspect has pleaded guilty to the shooting death of a man in North Ogden that police said stemmed from an ongoing conflict.

Ryan Joseph Dash, 35, a white supremacist gang member with a long criminal record, agreed to a plea bargain Oct. 24 and will be sentenced on Dec. 12 by 2nd District Judge Cristina Ortega in the shooting of 29-year-old Dalton Wood.

Charging documents said Dash and Brian Jenson, 30, of Brigham City, shot Wood and left his body on a roadside in North Ogden on Feb. 8, 2020. Wood suffered a pistol shot in the chest and a shotgun blast in the lower extremities.

Dash told police he earlier had assaulted Wood’s brother and that in response, Wood threatened him. He said the two agreed to meet, and Dash said that after he arrived, “I killed the (expletive).” Dash initially claimed he acted alone, but police later arrested Jenson, another white supremacist gang member, who earlier this year pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to prison.

In the plea bargain, Dash pleaded guilty to first-degree felony aggravated murder, with the prosecution recommending that he be sentenced to 25 years to life in prison rather than the other sentencing option, life without the possibility of parole.

The Weber County Attorney’s Office also agreed to drop charges of obstructing justice and use of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person.

The bargain also included a guilty plea to felony theft. Charging documents in that case said Dash and Jenson burglarized a West Haven care center three days before the murder, taking a safe. They later cracked open the safe, finding three firearms — including the guns used to kill Wood.
