The 2nd District Court is seen on Friday, Nov. 15, 2019, in downtown Ogden.

OGDEN — An Ogden man has been sentenced to suspended prison terms and three years of probation after he set fire to his house, shot it up and fought with police.

Adam Partridge, 43, had pleaded guilty to reduced charges before 2nd District Judge Joseph Bean sentenced him on Thursday.

Partridge was arrested on May 26, 2021, at his home in the 600 North block of Harrison Boulevard. Charging documents said Ogden firefighters responded to the blaze, found evidence that the fire was set intentionally and called police. Police found Partridge in a garage, but he ran back into the burning house and kicked two officers down a staircase as they tried to arrest him. Several shots had been fired in the home as well.

Prosecutors originally charged Partridge with first-degree felony aggravated arson, but the plea deal reduced that charge to a second-degree felony and dropped three misdemeanor charges.

According to online court records, Bean sentenced Partridge to one to 15 years in prison for arson and up to five years for the firearms charge, suspending both prison sentences. He sentenced him to jail for 36 days, which he already has served.

For the charge of assaulting police, Bean sentenced him to 364 days in jail, the term suspended.

Partridge’s requirements for probation include 60 days of community service, completion of the Salt Lake County Veterans Court program, and to be evaluated for mental health and substance abuse treatment.
