Ogden Raptors score 7 runs in the 5th inning to beat Boise
The Ogden Raptors broke open a 1-1 game with a seven-run fifth inning in a 10-5 win over Boise on Wednesday evening in front of 3,186 fans, following up on their 4-3 win on Tuesday.
Christian Day pitched six strong innings with one run and four hits allowed over 99 pitches. Day walked three batters and struck out three.
Josh Broughton hit a solo home run in the first inning for a 1-0 Ogden lead. Dakota Conners hit a solo homer in the fifth to restore the Raptors’ lead at 2-1, then it was off to the races.
Pat Adams singled to bring in a run, then Jesus Valdez singled to bring in two runs and make it a 5-1 game. Brian Dansereau was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded (6-1) and Conners came back to the plate a little later with a two-run single and an 8-1 lead.
Adams and Valdez brought one run home apiece in the sixth inning to make it 10-1. Boise came back with four runs in the eighth against Ogden pitcher Jack Cunningham. Miguel Cirino pitched a scoreless ninth to end the game. Brandon Bohning hit 3 for 5 with a double.
