Utah Hockey Club defenseman Sean Durzi (5)) celebrates after his goal with teammates during the third period of an NHL hockey game against the Florida Panthers on Friday, March 28, 2025, in Sunrise, Fla.USA BMX recently announced its National Series schedule of races, and one of the races, which is included on the series’ top PRO schedule, is set for Syracuse late in the season.
The Great Salt Lake Nationals leg of the USA BMX tour will hit Syracuse on Aug. 7-9, 2026, at the city’s Antelope BMX course (2261 W. 3060 South), two years from the facility’s opening in 2024.
The nine races designated on the PRO schedule help determine top riders who will compete at the Race of Champions held Nov. 25-29, 2026, in Oklahoma, “bringing the world’s top professional racers to center stage,” a news release reads. “Designed to showcase elite talent and inspire the next generation of riders, the Pro Series elevates every stop it touches, delivering world-class racing for fans across the country.
BMX bicycles are small bikes designed for racing on “motocross” style tracks (or for various street- or park-style trick competitions).
Antelope BMX is located in the southwest corner of Syracuse, just off the newly completed West Davis Corridor (Highway 177).
“Syracuse is located near the Great Salt Lake, one of the most unique natural wonders in the world,” the USA BMX schedule announcement reads. “As a new track into the series, Antelope BMX is a fast and fun track that offers incredible views of the surrounding mountains, making for memorable amateur and Pro racing.”
