NOTE: Only teams from the Standard-Examiner’s area of coverage are considered in weekly prep rankings.
BOYS BASKETBALL
1. Woods Cross (9-1, 0-0 Region 5)
Woods Cross is 6-0 against Utah opponents. The Wildcats’ only loss so far was to Godby, a Florida school, at the Tarkanian Classic in Las Vegas.
2. Sky View (7-2, 0-0 Region 1)
Sky View destroyed Bonneville, 72-36, last week. Sky View’s only two losses so far have been to Madison, an Idaho school, and rival Logan.
3. Davis (8-2, 0-0 Region 2)
Davis enters Region 2 play on a four-game win streak. The Darts won all three of their games at a tournament in Orlando, Fla., before taking down Fremont on the road in the days leading up to Christmas.
4. Roy (8-1, 0-0 Region 1)
Except for one hiccup against Bonneville, an Idaho school, Roy is finding ways to win. And the win over Box Elder, which won the Star Valley Shootout last week, looks even more impressive now.
5. Viewmont (5-4, 0-0 Region 2)
Viewmont has been off and on, but the Vikings enter 2017 on a two-game winning streak.

Viewmont has won four straight, all by double digits. The Vikings opened Region 2 play with a 20-point win at West just before Christmas.

Morgan dominated Union after the first quarter to earn an 18-point victory last week.
5. Bountiful (5-4, 0-0 Region 5)
