Prep basketball roundup: Ben Lomond boys win 6th straight; Bonneville, Davis stay unbeaten

ROY — Ben Lomond High boys basketball outscored Roy 15-8 in the final quarter to claim its sixth consecutive victory, winning 58-54 on Tuesday evening.

Preston Williams led Ben Lomond (6-3) with 11 points and three assists. Chauncey Whitty added 10 points, and Kekoa Beard chipped in eight points and six rebounds.

Elijah Sowards totaled 22 points and seven rebounds for Roy (1-6). Spencer Bessinger added 14 points and four rebounds.

BONNEVILLE 76, WEBER 73

PLEASANT VIEW — Weber led 37-28 at halftime but Bonneville outscored the Warriors 48-36 after the break to remain undefeated.

Carson Jones led Bonneville (8-0) with 24 points. Bo Dixon scored 19 with three 3-pointers. Jake Williams added 15 points and Miwa Brown tallied 10.

Cannon DeVries led all scorers with 29 points for Weber (3-5), shooting 9 of 10 from the free-throw line. Tukker Higgs added 22 points with six 3-pointers.

BEAR RIVER 61, BOX ELDER 49 (OT)

BRIGHAM CITY — Bear River outscored Box Elder 15-3 in overtime to claim a road win in the cross-county rivalry.

Kyver Jensen paced Bear River (3-5) with 16 points. Gehrig Marble scored 15 points, Kaleb Barfuss tallied 12 and Alec Callester added 10.

Jackson McKee scored a game-high 24 points for Box Elder (5-4) on four 3-pointers. Elijah Kersey netted eight points.

DAVIS 75, SALPOINTE CATHOLIC-AZ 61

MESA, Ariz. — Colby Sims shot 6 of 9 from deep as Davis remained unbeaten Tuesday in its second game of a tournament in Mesa, Arizona, that is playing with 16-minute halves and a 35-second shot clock.

Rex Sunderland led a contingent of just six Darts (9-0) with 22 points, six assists and three steals. Sims added 20 points, seven rebounds and four assists, and Tate Garff and Max Painter each scored 12 points. Henry Ihrig totaled nine points and 10 rebounds.

LAYTON 54, KEARNS 52

LAYTON — Layton trailed 33-30 at the half but used a 24-19 advantage after the break for a win at Kearns (6-1).

KJ Miller led Layton (3-6) with 14 points and three 3-pointers. Connor Wilson added 12 points while Brighton Palmer and Brock Mendoza each scored nine.

NORTHRIDGE 77, HILLCREST 58

LAYTON — Northridge led 21-11 after one quarter and never looked back in a home win over Hillcrest (2-5).

Sam Sivuluch led Northridge (6-2) with 23 points and five 3-pointers. Spencer Gill scored 14 points and Kade Sparrow added 11.

OGDEN 66, UNION 61

OGDEN — Ogden trailed 14-5 after one quarter and 45-43 after three, then completed the comeback for a home win over Union (7-4).

Alex Howard led Ogden (4-4) with 15 points. Jack Blodgett and Ozzy Norton each scored 14, with Norton shooting 8 of 10 from the free-throw line, including 6 of 8 in the fourth quarter. Landen Smith added nine points.

LAYTON CHRISTIAN 47, TIMPANOGOS 38

LAS VEGAS — Layton Christian trailed 22-19 at the half but earned a comeback win over Timpanogos (3-5) at the Tarkanian Classic.

Souleymane Barro paced Layton Christian (5-3) with 14 points. Sammy Ishimwe scored 13 and Tunc Tuncel added nine points.

WEST JORDAN 76, VIEWMONT 56

BOUNTIFUL — West Jordan got out to a 21-14 lead after one quarter and scored 25 in the fourth to seal its win at Viewmont.

Radek Pulsipher led Viewmont (3-5) with 16 points and five rebounds. Scott Noel added 13 points and five rebounds, and Zach Robison had 10 points and five rebounds.

DAVIS 57, SUNNYSLOPE-AZ 42

MESA, Ariz. — Davis had five players each hit two 3-pointers and held Sunnyslope (Arizona) to eight points in the paint in a win Monday.

Rex Sunderland led Davis with 15 points and Henry Ihrig added 12 points, five rebounds and three assists. Colby Sims totaled eight points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Ihrig, Sims, Sunderland, Tate Garff and Sawyer Cottrell hit the 3-pointers as the Darts shot 10 of 21 from deep.

VIEWMONT 88, HIGHLAND 62

BOUNTIFUL — Viewmont blistered the nets and led 76-43 after three quarters in a big home win Monday.

Scott Noel led Viewmont (3-4) with 23 points on 10-of-17 shooting, knocking down three 3s. Radek Pulsipher totaled 16 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals. Zach Robison shot 3 of 3 from downtown on the way to 14 points.

The Vikings shot 33 of 55 (60%) overall and 12 of 23 (52.2%) from the 3-point line.

OGDEN 49, CLEARFIELD 40

OGDEN — Ogden led 21-21 at the half then took control with an 18-11 advantage in the third quarter to beat Clearfield.

Lucy Ballard led Ogden (4-3) with 12 points. Grace Pulley scored 11 and Ashley Christensen added nine.

Miranda Mansfield led all scorers with 15 points for Clearfield (0-8). Haylie Robbins scored 10 points and Brooklyn Hawks tallied eight.

BOX ELDER 66, BEAR RIVER 41

BRIGHAM CITY — Box Elder led 37-18 at the half in a big win over Bear River.

Kamryn Peterson scored a game-high 17 points with two 3-pointers for Box Elder (6-3). Ashlyn Reeder added 14 points and three treys.

Lexie Westmorland and Ella Goldman each scored 12 points for Bear River (2-7).

SYRACUSE 42, OLYMPUS 29

SALT LAKE CITY — Syracuse led 27-23 after three quarters and pulled away in the final frame for a win at Olympus (7-2).

Whitney Sorensen led all scorers with 11 points for Syracuse (8-1). Skylee Hopkins added 10 points with two 3-pointers. Gracie Sorensen scored nine points.

WOODS CROSS 46, TOOELE 27

WOODS CROSS — Georgia Hatton poured in 21 points as Woods Cross beat Tooele (0-6) Monday.

Hatton scored 19 of 27 Woods Cross (5-3) first-half points. Brielle Gefrom added nine points, all in the fourth quarter.

RIDGELINE 48, DAVIS 40

KAYSVILLE — Davis led 27-24 at the half but was outscored 11-2 in the pivotal third quarter in a home loss to

Ridgeline (11-0).

Kendra Kitchen led all scorers with 16 points for Davis (7-1). Kylee Mabry added nine points.
