Prep roundup: Bonneville, Ogden stay on top of girls soccer region races

LAYTON — Ellie Schooler and Alexia Stone shared a clean sheet as Bonneville High girls soccer shut out Northridge (7-6, 2-4 Region 5) by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday evening.

Savvy Olson and Summer Diamond scored in the first half for Bonneville (10-2, 6-0 Region 5). Sadie Beardall assisted Olson’s score.

OGDEN 6, GRANTSVILLE 0

GRANTSVILLE — Emily Blackford kept a clean sheet and Ogden scored three goals in each half in a region win Monday at Grantsville.

Tori Kalista and Lily Galbraith each netted a brace for Ogden (7-3, 4-0 Region 13). Ajae Belliston and Celine Buttars each scored once. Neveah Peregrina, Heidi Vogel, Reagan Wilson and Maya Robinson each assisted one goal.

WEBER 2, FREMONT 1

PLEASANT VIEW — Callie Price scored twice, including the game winner in the 68th minute, as Weber downed Fremont in region play.

Price got her first goal in the 15th minute to give Weber (5-7, 2-6 Region 1) a 1-0 lead at the break.

Brooklyn Robinson scored the equalizer for Fremont (6-5, 2-5) in the 45th minute on an assist from Grace Kirby.

LAYTON 3, FARMINGTON 0

FARMINGTON — Riley Godfrey kept a clean sheet as Layton blanked Farmington (4-7, 3-5 Region 1).

Erin Bailey paced Layton (9-3, 7-1) with a goal and two assists. Hannah Roe had a goal and an assist. Reagan Williams netted once.

SYRACUSE 2, CLEARFIELD 0

CLEARFIELD — Tayiah Lambert kept a clean sheet as Syracuse blanked Clearfield (2-9, 0-8 Region 1).

Cortney Cobabe and Abby Affleck scored in the second half for Syracuse (7-4, 6-2). Abby Schofield had an assist.

MORGAN 4, BEN LOMOND 0

MORGAN — Brecklee Charlton netted twice and Madi Wangsgard kept a clean sheen as Morgan shut out Ben Lomond (4-6, 2-2 Region 13) on Monday.

Lacie Poll had a goal and an assist for Morgan (9-1, 4-0). Kaitlyn Sampson scored once while Kaydence Wardell, Aspen Telford and Grace Pepper each assisted one score.

ROWLAND HALL 3, ST. JOSEPH 1

SALT LAKE CITY — Ellen Rickerd scored on an Abby Gough assist as St. Joseph (4-4, 1-3 2A North) fell at Rowland Hall (5-3, 4-0).

PLEASANT VIEW — Syracuse beat Weber in four sets: 25-22, 25-27, 22-25, 25-16.

Tehana Mo’o led Syracuse (5-0, 2-0 Region 1) with 14 kills and two blocks. Hailee Garcia had 29 assists and five aces and Kambree Rodriguez added 29 digs.

Weber (7-10, 2-1) did not report stats.

DAVIS 3, LAYTON 1

LAYTON — Davis rebounded after losing the first set to beat Layton in four sets: 21-25, 25-20, 27-25, 27-25.

Emma Brough hit 15 kills for Layton (6-11, 0-3 Region 1) and Mercedes Lopez had 28 assists with 12 digs.

Davis (10-8, 2-0) didn’t report stats.

ROY 3, TAYLORSVILLE 0

ROY — Roy swept Taylorsville by set scores of 25-7, 25-13, 25-14, to stay unbeaten in Region 2.

Nelly Arenas led the Royals (7-5, 3-0 Region 2) with 14 digs, Jayna Rogers had seven kills and Kya Sayachith hit five service aces.

OGDEN 3, GRANTSVILLE 0

OGDEN — Ogden kicked off Region 13 play by sweeping Grantsville (5-9, 0-2 Region 13) by scores of 25-23, 25-21, 25-20.

Rees Bockwoldt paced Ogden (5-7, 1-0) with 20 kills and seven digs. Soledad Vanorden had 10 kills, eight digs and three aces. Megan Aardema tallied 39 assists, three kills and eight digs.

LAYTON CHRISTIAN 3, BEN LOMOND 0

LAYTON — Layton Christian swept Ben Lomond in each teams’ region opener: 25-8, 25-9, 25-12.

Lily McGuckin tallied 22 assists and eight aces for Layton Christian (3-0, 1-0 Region 13). Mariana Said had eight kills, three blocks and five aces. Giulia Carelli added seven aces and four kills

Ben Lomond (0-5, 0-1) did not report stats.

ST. JOSEPH 3, APA-WV 0

OGDEN — St. Joseph swept American Preparatory Academy-West Valley (1-8, 0-2 Region 17) by scores of 25-5, 25-6, 25-9.

Montse Hernandez had nine kills, eight digs and one ace for St. Joseph (12-2, 1-0). Sarah Snell tallied five kills, 13 assists, one block and four aces. Hannah Andersen added seven aces.
