BEAR RIVER

Bear River hired Josie Pugsley as its new girls basketball coach. Pugsley replaces Tyrell Neal.

Pugsley is a Bear River alumnus who played college basketball at Snow College and College of Idaho.

CLEARFIELD

Clearfield’s new boys basketball coach is Scott McLaughlin, who was an assistant coach at Cottonwood High in Murray.

McLaughlin is currently the head boys tennis coach at Cottonwood, according to the school staff directory. He replaces longtime Falcons basketball coach Curtis Hulse.

OGDEN

Interviews are scheduled next week for both boys and girls head basketball coaching jobs at Ogden High, which opened last month after boys coach Brock Randall was dismissed from his post and girls coach Steve Lister resigned.

ST. JOSEPH

St. Joseph hired Aaron Schrader as its new boys basketball coach, the school announced this week. Schrader formerly coached the girls team at Layton Christian up until 2019.

Schrader replaces Jamaal Jenkins, who was coaching both the boys and girls teams at SJC this past season in what ended up being a one-season experiment at the school.

SJC is currently looking for a girls basketball head coach.

FOOTBALL

In prep football, Roy High will conduct interviews next week for its head coach search, athletic director Mike Puzey said.

The school is searching for a coach to follow Fred Fernandes, who stepped down last month to take the offensive coordinator spot at Bingham High.
