Prep basketball roundup: Clearfield girls beat Ogden to improve to 4-1; Eggett scores 36 for Davis boys

CLEARFIELD — Clearfield High girls basketball outscored Ogden 19-9 in the third quarter to reverse a 26-22 halftime deficit and win 53-47 on Thursday night.

Amoree Scholer led Clearfield (4-1) with 12 points, 10 coming in the second half. Xiyah Yarbrough scored 10 points and Brooklyn Hawks added nine for the Falcons, who won their third game in a row.

Brynn Smith and Ashley Christensen each scored 11 points for Ogden (3-2). Smith shot 6 for 6 on free throws. Ellie Olverson added nine points.

BEN LOMOND 52, WATERFORD 18

OGDEN — Kyara Tinajero scored 28 points to lead Ben Lomond to a home win over Waterford.

Jazlynn Tinajero tallied nine points for Ben Lomond (5-0).

BONNEVILLE 44, ROY 30

ROY — Bonneville outscored Roy 26-13 in the second half to take a road win.

Hailee Cherry led all scorers with 16 points and four 3-pointers for Bonneville (2-3). Libby Jensen scored seven and McCall Monson tallied six points.

Sienna Sanchez scored nine points for Roy (0-5). Nicole Williams and Jerzee Hart each added seven points.

DAVIS 47, OLYMPUS 37

HOLLIDAY — Kendra Kitchen scored a game-high 19 points to lead Davis to a win at Olympus.

Kitchen was a perfect 7 of 7 from the foul line. Aryanna Bull added 16 points for Davis (4-0).

MORGAN 55, NORTH SUMMIT 27

MORGAN — Elena Birkeland scored 15 points to lead Morgan to a win. Alyvia Jaffa added 14 points and Sarah Heywood pulled in 10 rebounds.

WESTLAKE 70, NORTHRIDGE 38

SARATOGA SPRINGS — Madison Hosino scored 12 points, with four 3-pointers, and Karlee Mayfield added 10 in a loss for Northridge (2-4).

WESTLAKE 60, LAYTON CHRISTIAN 39

DAVIS 83, HUNTER 53

KAYSVILLE — Kaden Eggett scored 36 points on 17-of-20 shooting, all of which were 2-pointers, to lead Davis in a blowout win at the Northern Utah Shootout tournament.

Eggett added 11 rebounds for Davis (2-2). Zach Fisher scored 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting and Alex Fisher added 10 points with two 3-pointers. The Darts shot 34 for 59 (57.6%) in the game with 52 points in the paint.

LAYTON CHRISTIAN 60, SNOW CANYON 57

LAYTON — Layton Christian trailed 34-27 at the half, but outscored Snow Canyon 19-12 in the fourth quarter to complete the comeback for a home win.

Tyrese Lacey and Tyrin Jones each scored 14 points for Layton Christian (3-1). Jones shot 5 of 5 from the field, including two 3-pointers, and went 2 for 2 from the foul line. Souleymane Barro added eleven points.

MANTI 76, OGDEN 66

MANTI — Ogden was outscored 28-18 in the fourth quarter to fall in the first game of the I-Four Media Invitational at Manti High.

Stockton Marriott led Ogden (1-2) with 13 points. Austin Johnson added 11 points. Weston Moore, Boston Rodriguez and Teegan Porter each scored nine points, with Porter hitting three 3-pointers.
