Prep roundup: Ogden buzzer beater attempt falls short; COVID-19 postpones multiple games

OGDEN — Ogden High girls basketball’s half-court buzzer-beater attempt fell just short as the Tigers fell 51-50 at home to South Summit (5-9, 1-1 Region 13) on Thursday night.
Ashley Christensen led Ogden (4-10, 0-2) with 22 points and four 3-pointers. Ellie Oliverson and Donna Gonzalez Quintanilla each scored six points.

NORTH LOGAN — Kate Dahle scored a game-high 21 points for Bear River, who fell at Green Canyon (7-5, 1-1 Region 11).
Kallie Marchant and Jenna LaCroix each added six points for the Bears (3-10, 0-2 Region 11).

Thursday’s Layton Christian-Ben Lomond girls basketball game was postponed due to COVID-19.
All of Friday’s previously scheduled Roy-Hunter basketball games were postponed due to Thursday morning’s shooting in West Valley City, which the Salt Lake Tribune reports resulted in the death of two Hunter High students.
Friday’s previously scheduled girls and boys basketball games between Box Elder and Woods Cross have been rescheduled to Feb. 1 due to COVID-19, Box Elder High announced.
