LAYTON — Northridge High softball scored four runs in the fifth inning to take a 12-7 lead and held off a Woods Cross rally for a region win, claiming a 12-11 victory Thursday evening.

Morgan Rich batted 3 for 5 with three RBIs for Northridge (6-3, 1-1 Region 5). Ashlyn Spens went 3 for 5 and drove in one. Amaya Porter doubled and drove in four. Jenika Weaver and Aniri Fonoti-Maikui each batted 2 for 5 with a double and an RBI. Porter pitched a complete game for the win.

Libby Clark batted 3 for 4 with a double, one RBI and three runs scored for Woods Cross (6-7, 0-2). Natalie Wall hit 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs. Ali Ebberts went 2 for 4 and drove in three. Noa Latu hit an RBI double while Kaii Crockett and Kenna Cowley each added a double.

FREMONT 14, LAYTON 3

PLAIN CITY — Fremont scored 10 runs in the third inning in a win over Layton.

Savannah Palmatier batted 3 for 4 with a double and four RBIs for Fremont (7-1, 4-0 Region 1). Brinley Johnson went 2 for 4 with a double and drove in three. Brinley Ellsworth hit a two-run single and Keysha McKean hit an RBI double.

Ellsworth pitched a five-inning complete game with seven strikeouts, allowing four hits.

Joslyn Purcell hit a two-run single for Layton (5-4, 2-2). Ellie Robbins drove in one.

CLEARFIELD 7, DAVIS 5

KAYSVILLE — Clearfield scored six runs in the top of the sixth inning to take a 7-1 lead, then held off a Davis rally for a region road win.

Jenna Lloyd pitched a complete game and batted 3 for 4 for Clearfield (4-6, 2-3 Region 1). Miranda Mansfield hit 2 for 4 with a double and drove in three. Kylie Spieth went 2 for 3 with two RBIs and Chloe Sangberg hit a double.

Laney Tuft batted 2 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs for Davis (7-6, 1-4). Sadie Hathaway went 2 for 4 with a double. Avery Kartchner batted 2 for 3 with two RBIs and Alix Thaxton hit a triple.

ROY 11, GRANGER 1

ROY — Roy led 5-0 after two innings, then scored six runs in the third in a win over Granger (2-12, 0-5 Region 2).

Alissa Green batted 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs for Roy (2-11, 2-2). Aspen Johnson hit a solo home run. Kylee Weitzel hit an RBI triple. Quincy Johnson hit a two-run single.

Liv Bruch pitched a five-inning complete game, allowing three hits and striking out six.

BONNEVILLE 10, VIEWMONT 8

WASHINGTON TERRACE — Bonneville scored two runs in the fifth inning to build a 10-2 lead, then held off a Viewmont rally for a region win.

Peighton Summers batted 3 for 3 with a double and two RBIs for Bonneville (11-3, 10-1 Region 5). Keli Scadden went 2 for 3 and drove in two. Anna Healy hit 2 for 3 with a double. Emmaline DeGroot pitched a complete game, striking out five.

Lily Hawker went 3 for 4 with a double and two RBIs for Viewmont (9-4, 1-1). Molly Roberts batted 2 for 4 with two doubles and drove in two. Anna Moore hit a two-run double.

BASEBALL

WOODS CROSS 12, CLEARFIELD 2

WOODS CROSS — Woods Cross scored nine runs in the third inning to take a 10-2 lead in a win over Clearfield.

Dylan Williams batted 3 for 4 with two RBIs for Woods Cross (3-2). Blake Stanger hit a two-run home run. Max Moffat went 2 for 3 with a triple and two RBIs. Cole Smith hit a two-run double.

Clearfield (5-5) did not report stats.

NORTHRIDGE 18, SUMMIT ACADEMY 8

LAYTON — Northridge trailed 5-3 after two innings, then scored nine runs in the third and six in the fourth to beat Summit Academy (7-5).

Jace Olsen batted 4 for 4 with a triple and two RBIs for Northridge (5-3). Jed Hadley batted 3 for 4 with a double and drove in three. Tyler Ashbury hit 2 for 3 with four RBIs. Jory Durrant batted 2 for 3 with a double and drove in three.

Kobe McRoberts batted 2 for 2 with three RBIs. Tytan Redd went 2 for 2 and drove in one. Jordan Rhodes hit 2 for 3 with a double.
