Prep roundup: Bear River baseball wins Region 11 title on Harrow gem

MILLVILLE — Hunter Harrow’s complete-game gem led Bear River High baseball to a 10-1 win over Ridgeline on Thursday, clinching the Region 11 title for the Bears.

Harrow allowed two Ridgeline hits, giving up one earned run and striking out four for Bear River (19-5, 12-2 Region 11). He also hit 2 for 4 with a double at the plate.

Bear River homered four times in the win. Ashton Harrow homered, doubled and drove in three runs. Garrison Marble hit 3 for 4 with a home run. Easton Potter and Hunter Smoot each homered and had two RBIs.

SOFTBALL

FREMONT 10, SYRACUSE 0

SYRACUSE — Fremont wrapped up at least a share of the Region 1 championship with a six-inning win over Syracuse (5-17, 1-10 Region 1).

Brinley Ellsworth pitched a six-inning, one-hit shutout with 17 strikeouts for Fremont (16-3, 10-1). Savannah Palmatier hit 3 for 4 with three RBIs, two stolen bases and a double.

Reata O’Neal and Josie Slater drove in two runs each. Fremont had nine stolen bases and five doubles as a team.

WEBER 14, LAYTON 4

PLEASANT VIEW — Allison Hughes drove in three runs and Kendall Strasburg threw a complete game as Weber run-ruled Layton in six innings.

Strasburg hit 2 for 4 at the plate for Weber (13-8, 9-2 Region 1). Brailee Avner doubled and drove in two, and Hadley Howell and Kennedie Johnson also doubled.

Brenley Boydston doubled twice and drove in two runs for Layton (8-13, 5-6). Alissa Reisbeck hit a two-run homer.

ROY 10, KEARNS 0

ROY — Liv Bruch threw a two-hit shutout, doubled twice and scored three runs in a five-inning win for Roy.

Aspen Johnson singled in a pair of runs for Roy (8-15, 7-5 Region 2). Carsyn Byard and Payton Brown each hit a double. Bruch struck out six and walked two.

BONNEVILLE 13, WOODS CROSS 1

WASHINGTON TERRACE — Chandlyr Noble gave up three hits, one run, struck out two and walked zero in the circle for Bonneville.

Emmaline DeGroot hit 2 for 3 with a home run, three RBIs and scored three runs for Bonneville (19-4, 8-2 Regon 5). Anna Healy drove in three runs.

Ali Ebberts hit a solo homer for the lone Woods Cross (7-15, 0-10) run.

FARMINGTON 8, CLEARFIELD 0

FARMINGTON — Delaney Baker threw a complete-game, one-hit shutout to lead Farmington.

Baker struck out nine and walked four in the win for Farmington (14-7, 9-2 Region 1). Lexi Crowley doubled, drove in two runs and scored twice. Paige Herbon singled and scored twice.

Miranda Mansfield tallied the hit for Clearfield (4-13, 2-10).

BOUNTIFUL 18, NORTHRIDGE 2

LAYTON — Eva Stoddard hit 4 for 4 with a home run and six RBIs and Bountiful claimed a three-inning win.

Ella Miller stuck out nine batters for all nine Northridge outs, homered at the plate anddrove in three runs for Bountiful (15-5-1, 9-1 Region 5). Malissa Turpin batted 3 for 3 with three RBIs. Shiloh Johnson hit 3 for 3, drove in two and scored four runs.

Amaya Porter and Delaney Robinson tallied singles for Northridge (11-11, 3-7), with Porter driving in both runs.

BOX ELDER 16, VIEWMONT 5

BRIGHAM CITY — Kamryn Peterson doubled, drove in three runs and gave up one run over the final four innings to lead Box Elder in a six-inning win.

Maygen-Raye Kaleikini doubled, drove in two and was not retired at the plate for Box Elder (17-10, 7-3 Region 5), drawing two walks. Sydney Stokes hit 2 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Kennedy Embrey tripled and had two RBIs for Viewmont (12-10, 3-7). Lily Wright doubled in a run.
