GARLAND — Bear River High softball scored five runs in the fifth inning to turn a 4-2 deficit into a 7-4 win to complete a perfect region season and clinch its sixth straight Region 11 title with a win over Ridgeline (20-5, 7-2 Region 11) on Friday.

McCall Maxfield batted 2 for 4 with a go-ahead, two-run home run for Bear River (24-3, 10-0). Carlee Miller batted 3 for 4 with a double.

Zoe Sorensen, Kynlei Nelson and Bella Douglas each hit a double. Kate Dahle pitched a complete game, giving up six hits and striking out 10.

VIEWMONT 15, TAYLORSVILLE 3

BOUNTIFUL — Molly Roberts earned the win in a five-inning complete game and batted 3 for 3 with a home run, a double and four RBIs as Viewmont downed Taylorsville.

Lily Hawker batted 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI for Viewmont (13-10). Anna Moore went 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs. Jenavieve Eggert hit 2 for 2 with a double and drove in one.

BASEBALL

JUDGE MEMORIAL 11, BEN LOMOND 6

SALT LAKE CITY — No. 20 Ben Lomond led 2-0 after one inning, but gave up eight runs in the fourth in a 3A play-in game at No. 13 Judge Memorial (8-12).

Ben Lomond ends the year with a 5-18 record.

MORGAN 4, NORTH SANPETE 1

MT. PLEASANT — Gage Adams bunted a two-run double to give No. 17 Morgan the lead in the third inning in a 3A play-in game win at No. 16 North Sanpete (7-15).

Adams earned the win with 12 strikeouts in five innings for Morgan (13-13). Jaren Stuart drove in a run with a bases-loaded walk and Tryker Jones hit an RBI sacrifice fly.

The Trojans advance to face top-seeded Juab in the 3A first round Saturday at 10 a.m.

FREMONT 6, DAVIS 0

KAYSVILLE — Gavin Douglas pitched a complete-game, three-hitter, and hit a triple and a double with two runs scored as Fremont completed the series sweep over Davis.

Jaxon Larkin and Cannon Koford each had two hits for Fremont (21-1, 15-0 Region 1). Calvin Morrow hit a three-run double.

Jenson Jacobs, Tyson Elkins and Cory Bridges each had a hit for Davis (10-12, 7-8).

WEBER 14, CLEARFIELD 5

CLEARFIELD — Ian Carver batted 4 for 5 with two doubles and four RBIs to lead Weber to a series sweep at Clearfield.

Luke Erickson batted 2 for 4 with a solo home run for Weber (10-12, 6-9 Region 1). Jake Lindsay batted 2 for 3 with a double. Bode Larson and Bennett Jensen each drove in two with two hits. Dominic Salerno added two singles. Nathaniel Samaro earned the win with three strikeouts in six innings.

Cayden Sato batted 2 for 3 with a home run and three RBIs for Clearfield (5-17, 2-13). Porter Benton drove in one.

ROY 6, WEST 4

SALT LAKE CITY — Ryder Williams hit an RBI double and drew two walks as Roy swept West and won its fourth game in a row.

Cragun McCloy hit a double for Roy (11-11, 9-6 Region 2). Justin Miller and Conner Munoz each had an RBI. Miller earned the win, giving up 10 hits and three runs over six innings.

BOX ELDER 11, BONNEVILLE 1 (5)

BRIGHAM CITY — Ryan Griffin hit two home runs with four RBIs and earned the win with one hit and four strikeouts in four innings pitched as Box Elder swept Bonneville.

Tommy Greer batted 2 for 2 with one RBI for Box Elder (10-12, 5-7 Region 5). Kade Hall hit a double and drove in two. KJ Argyle added a double.

Jaxon Hymas got the only hit and scored the only run for Bonneville (3-16, 0-12).

BEAR RIVER 11, RIDGELINE 1 (6)

GARLAND — Jhett Roche pitched a two-hitter with four strikeouts as Bear River downed Ridgeline to finish as outright Region 11 champions.

Ashton Harrow batted 2 for 3 with a triple, a double and three RBIs for Bear River (20-5, 13-2 Region 11). Easton Potter went 2 for 3 with a double and drove in two. Garrison Marble had two hits and two RBIs. Hunter Harrow and Alec Callister each added two hits.

FARMINGTON 9, SYRACUSE 3 (9)

SYRACUSE — Farmington scored six runs in the top of the ninth inning to win Syracuse and complete a sweep.

Tucker Wall batted 2 for 5 with two triples and two RBIs for Farmington (16-8, 12-6 Region 1). Luke Workman had two hits. Mason Cook and Park Romney each hit an RBI double. Jack Hansen pitched four innings of relief with six strikeouts.

Wyatt Humphrey batted 2 for 4 with a solo home run for Syracuse (5-17, 5-10)

VIEWMONT 9, NORTHRIDGE 4

BOUNTIFUL — Jaxon Marble batted 3 for 3 with a double and three RBIs to lead Viewmont past Northridge and into a tie for first place in Region 5.

Gatlin Solomon batted 3 for 4 with one RBI for Viewmont (13-6, 9-3 Region 5). Tate Gamble hit 2 for 4. Cal Miller pitched a complete game with seven strikeouts.

Jed Hadley hit a two-run home run for Northridge (10-10, 5-7). Jordan Rhoades hit a triple.

BOUNTIFUL 5, WOODS CROSS 1

BOUNTIFUL — Truman Duryea hit a solo home run as Bountiful complicated the Region 5 race with a win over Woods Cross.

Kaisan Averett hit an RBI triple for Bountiful (14-8, 8-4 Region 5). Carson Webster hit an RBI double and Cole McSwain added a double. McSwain earned the win, scattering four hits in a complete game.

Micah Mortensen drove in Dylan Williams with a single for Woods Cross (15-7, 9-3).

BOYS SOCCER

ROY 2, TAYLORSVILLE 1

ROY — PJ Robinson scored once in each half to lead Roy past Taylorsville.

Hunter Patterson and Corbin Sparrow assisted the Roy (9-7, 7-5 Region 2) goals.

BONNEVILLE def. BOUNTIFUL

WASHINGTON TERRACE — Bonneville (7-8, 6-4 Region 5) clinched a share of the Region 5 crown with a 6-5 penalty kick shootout victory over Bountiful (3-11, 3-6). The teams were tied 0-0 after regulation and two periods of extra time. No stats were reported.

BOX ELDER 2, VIEWMONT 1

BRIGHAM CITY — Gavin Barber scored twice on assists by Landon Loyd and Bobby Clifford as Box Elder (7-8, 4-5 Region 5) beat Viewmont.

Viewmont (7-7, 6-4) did not report stats. The Vikings finish the regular season as co-Region 5 champions.
