SYRACUSE — Syracuse High girls volleyball took over first place in Region 1 with a five-set home win Thursday over Davis. Set scores were 25-17, 23-25, 16-25, 25-21, 15-11.

Mikelle Neilson paced Syracuse (15-3, 6-0 Region 1) with 11 kills, two aces and 17 digs. Tehana Mo’o added 16 kills and 16 digs. Kallie Johansen 10 kills two aces six blocks. Brilyn Jensen dished out 51 assists.

Aubrey Nielson had 20 kills for Davis (17-5, 5-1). Brinley Bush totaled 22 digs and 13 kills. Cambria White served three aces. Loryn Helgesen tallied six blocks and Aimee Larsen had 50 assists.

ROY — Roy swept Cyprus by scores of 25-23, 25-11, 25-10

Kjerstin Waite led Roy (5-11, 6-2 Region 1) with eight kills, three aces and eight digs. Abby Dixon added 16 digs.

ST. JOSEPH 3, ROWLAND HALL 1

SALT LAKE CITY — St. Joseph won at Rowland Hall in four sets: 25-20, 22-25, 25-14, 25-14.

Sarah Snell tallied 10 kills, three aces and nine digs for St. Joseph (10-6, 3-2 Region 17). Reagan Schellhase added 16 kills. Lizzie Randall had eight kills, 21 assists, five digs and four aces.

BOUNTIFUL 3, NORTHRIDGE 0

LAYTON — Bountiful won in straight sets at Northridge: 25-11, 25-17, 25-11.

Jordyn Harvey led Bountiful (14-0, 3-0 Region 5) with 11 kills, two aces and one block. Taylor Harvey had seven kills and four aces. Claire Cook added nine digs and three aces. Evalyn Chism tallied 29 assists, three kills and four blocks.

Northridge (13-2, 2-1) did not report stats.

WASHINGTON TERRACE — Bonneville outshot Woods Cross 5-4 on penalty kicks after ending regulation and extra time tied 2-2 to claim a region victory and subsequently clinch a share of the Region 5 title.

Summer Diamond had a goal and an assist for Bonneville (14-0, 8-0 Region 5). Sadie Beardall netted once. It’s the Lakers’ third straight region title and sixth in the last seven years.

Woods Cross (8-6, 4-4) did not report stats.

LAYTON 4, FARMINGTON 0

LAYTON — Savannah Putman and Avery Bott combined to keep a clean sheet and Layton scored twice in each half in a win over Farmington (9-5, 7-3 Region 1).

Kristen Moss, Lucy Huler and Calli Holje each had a goal and an assist for Layton (8-6, 7-3). Reese Robinson netted once and Jersee Clapier tallied an assist.

MORGAN 6, BEN LOMOND 0

MORGAN — Miya Turner and Madison Wangsgard shared the shutout as Morgan downed Ben Lomond (3-10, 3-3 Region 13) late Wednesday.

Kaydence Wardell netted twice for Morgan (12-2, 7-0). Brecklee Charlton had a goal and an assist. Jayda Jones, Katlyn Sampson and Caroline Owen scored on goal apiece. Kapree Charlton, Laci Poll, Macie Burton and Macey Miller each assisted once.

OGDEN 9, GRANTSVILLE 2

GRANTSVILLE — Ogden scored eight goals in the second half to break a 1-1 halftime score in a win at Grantsville on Wednesday.

Kate Pulley had a hat trick for Ogden (9-4, 5-1 Region 13). Ruth Larsen tallied two goals and three assists. Maya Robinson scored a brace. Nevaeh Peregrina added one goal and one assist. Bella Gray scored once and Reagan Wilson had an assist.
