Bonneville boys golf team wins Region 5 match at Riverside; Parker Bunn repeats as medalist
Bonneville High’s boys golf team placed three players in the top four and narrowly beat Box Elder for first place in Monday’s Region 5 match at Schneiter’s Riverside Golf Course in Riverdale.
The Lakers shot a team score of 290, just ahead of Box Elder’s 293. Bonneville’s Parker Bunn won medalist honors for the second week in a row with a 4-under-par 67. He and Box Elder’s Taj Hancey (3-under 70) were the only two players under par.
Josh Wallis (Bonneville), Aidan Gross (Bonneville) and Kanyon DeRyke (Box Elder) finished in a tie for fourth place after shooting 73.
Box Elder’s Nathan Taylor and Northridge’s Caleb Hennefer shot 74 to finish tied for ninth.
Northridge’s Cooper Cowan (76) and Owen Brown (77), Box Elder’s Colin Loveless (76) and Bonneville’s Zach Ohlin (77) just finished outside the top 10.
Caden Burch led Clearfield with an 82, while Colby Frokjer led Roy with an 83.
As a team, Northridge tied for sixth with a team score of 306, Clearfield was seventh with a 339 and Roy was eighth at 361.
