Clearfield High fired football head coach Carl Harry on Friday, Harry confirmed to the Standard-Examiner on Monday.

The move comes after the Falcons posted back-t0-back 0-10 seasons under Harry.

Harry took over as interim head coach at the end of 2021 after the school fired then-first-year head coach Don Eck before the season’s end.

Whoever takes over Clearfield’s head coaching position will be the third new head coach in four years and the fourth different head coach in five years.

The Davis School District posted the Clearfield head football coaching position on the district website Monday afternoon, which comes with a to-be-determined teaching assignment. The deadline to apply for the job is Friday.

WEST FIELD, BONNEVILLE HIRING COACHES

West Field High, the new school being built in Taylor in western Weber County, is hiring for dozens of teaching and staff positions.

Among those open positions are head coaching spots for football, girls soccer and volleyball, which were posted to the Weber School District website on Nov. 2 and reposted to the district website Monday.

The new positions are expected to generate high interest, as well as a coaching merry-go-round, since some head and assistant coaches are ultimately expected to come from area high schools.

Additionally, Bonneville High is hiring for its girls soccer, girls volleyball and boys volleyball head coaching spots, which were posted to the district website Friday.

The girls soccer position is to replace Makensie Price, who coached the Lakers the last two seasons, and girls volleyball is to replace Erin Glover.

VIGIL STEPS DOWN AS SYRACUSE VOLLEYBALL COACH

Corrie Vigil stepped down as Syracuse High girls volleyball coach. She coached the Titans for eight seasons.

In that time, Syracuse won four region championships in 2017-18 and 2021-22, also appearing in the state semifinals in 2021 and 2022.
