Prep roundup: Fremont baseball tops Roy, Davis goes 2-1 in California

ROY — Hayden Hudman batted 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs to lead Fremont High baseball past Roy 5-0 on Wednesday.

Karsten Jamison went 2 for 4 and drove in one for Fremont (6-3). Anthony Marziale hit a double. Brigg Grange hit an RBI single. Marziale earned the win with six strikeouts and two hits in six innings.

Jack Sorensen doubled for Roy (1-9). Tyler Clark and Cache Summers each got a hit.

WEBER 7, CEDAR VALLEY 6

PLEASANT VIEW — Weber rallied from a 6-1 deficit through four innings to win at home over Cedar Valley.

Dax Rhees tripled and drove in two runs for Weber (4-5). Caden Lindholm batted 3 for 4 with two doubles and an RBI. Tyce Abbott and Ashton Burnett each had two hits.

Jarett Hill pitched the final 2 2/3 innings and faced one over the minimum with a walk, allowing zero hits and striking out four.

DAVIS 3, SEGERSTROM-CA 1

IRVINE, Calif. — Kaleb Weaver batted 2 for 3 with a triple and an RBI as Davis defeated Segerstrom (California) in tournament play at Great Park.

Wally Grant went 3 for 4 for Davis (8-2). Carter Knight and Max Hunter each hit an RBI single. Grant earned the win with one hit and five strikeouts over five innings.

DAVIS 7, WOODBRIDGE-CA 4 (8)

IRVINE, Calif. — Davis scored twice in the top of the seventh inning to force bonus baseball, then plated three in the eighth to grab a tournament win over Woodbridge (California) on Tuesday.

Jaxon Marble batted 3 for 4 with two doubles for Davis. Wyatt Horning batted 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Owen Talbot and Carter Garrett each had two hits and combined for three RBIs. Kaleb Weaver earned the win in one inning of relief.

PACIFICA-CA 4, DAVIS 1

IRVINE, Calif. — Carter Garrett hit a single and scored a run as Davis fell to Pacifica (California) on Monday.

Owen Talbot and Kaleb Weaver each got a hit for Davis (6-1) and Wally Grant drove in one.

BEAR RIVER 4, WOODS CROSS 3

WOODS CROSS — Bear River scored one run in the top of the sixth inning and two more in the seventh in a comeback win at Woods Cross.

Easton Goodliffe batted 2 for 3 and drove in one for Bear River (11-4). Gehrig Marble and Kolton Summers each hit an RBI single and Degan Rigby hit a sacrifice fly. Brooks Drollinger earned the win with one strikeout and two hits in three innings of relief.

BEAR RIVER 12, WESTLAKE 1

SARATOGA SPRINGS — Degan Rigby batted 2 for 4 with a double and four RBIs and earned the win with eight strikeouts while allowing one hit as Bear River won at Westlake in five innings Tuesday.

Holden Porter batted 2 for 4 with a double and three runs scored for Bear River. Talon Marble drove in two with two hits. Brooks Drollinger and Michael Sanchez each had two hits and one RBI.

SPANISH FORK 9, MORGAN 4

MORGAN — Benjamin Harden batted 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI as Morgan fell to Spanish Fork in non-region play.

George Jensen batted 2 for 3 for Morgan (7-7, 1-3 Region 13). Luke Bauerle hit an RBI single. Benton Palmer drove in one.

MORGAN 8, UNION 6

MORGAN — In the first game of a doubleheader Tuesday, Benjamin Harden batted 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs as Morgan downed Union.

Brigham Spens batted 2 for 4 and drove in two for Morgan (7-6). George Jensen hit an RBI double. Camron Talbot earned the win in one inning of relief.

UNION 7, MORGAN 3

MORGAN — In the nightcap Tuesday, Union scored six runs in the fifth inning.

Benton Palmer batted 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI for Morgan. Benjamin Harden and Luke Bauerle each hit an RBI single.

SKYRIDGE 5, LAYTON 3

LAYTON — Layton scored three runs in the seventh inning but it wasn’t enough in a Tuesday home loss to Skyridge.

Emilio Cedeno batted 2 for 4 Layton (7-2). Andres Cedeno hit an RBI single. Eli Anderson, Talon Hansen and Zane Morgan each got a hit.

Kaya Towne batted 3 for 4 with a double and three RBIs for Bear River (7-4). Aubree Fry hit an RBI triple. Ashley Warren batted 3 for 3 and drove in one.

LAYTON — Joao Stoll and Tito Souza each netted as Layton Christian (5-0, 1-0 Region 10) grabbed a region win Wednesday over Murray.
