Prep roundup: Pickle Monk homers 3 times, drives in 8 as Farmington baseball beats Weber
PLEASANT VIEW — Pickle Monk hit three home runs, doubled, and totaled eight RBIs as Farmington High baseball topped Weber 13-2 on Friday to take the three-game series.
Austin Reed hit an RBI double for Farmington (4-11, 2-4 Region 1). Landon Leavitt and Gage Farr each got a hit. Easton Wight earned the win with four hits and three strikeouts over five innings.
Ridge Torman batted 2 for 2 for Weber (6-10, 2-4). Aiden Rodarte, Tyce Abbott and Ashton Burnett each hit a double.
SYRACUSE 11, LAYTON 5
SYRACUSE — Austin Burton batted 3 for 4 with a double and three RBIs as Syracuse earned a series sweep over Layton and forged a tie atop Region 1 with Davis and Fremont.
Tatum Martin, Carson Miles and Tag Hamblin each batted 2 for 4 for Syracuse (7-7-1, 4-2 Region 1). Martin tripled and drove in one while Miles doubled and drove in three. Easton Hamblin hit a two-run double. Jaden Keblis got the win with seven hits and five strikeouts.
Eli Anderson batted 2 for 2 with a double and two RBIs for Layton (9-6, 2-4). Emelio Cedeno went 2 for 3 and drove in one. Boston Johns and Carter Shoenfeld each hit a double.
BOX ELDER 15, ROY 1
BRIGHAM CITY — Landon Golman batted 2 for 4 with a double and four RBIs as Box Elder beat Roy in five innings.
Ryan Griffin went 2 for 2 with a double and an RBI for Box Elder (7-9, 2-4 Region 5). KJ Argyle hit three singles. Freshman Judd Howels earned the win with two hits and three strikeouts over 4 1/3 innings.
Samuel Smith hit a double and scored for Roy (3-13, 2-4). Brandon Brechbill got the other Royal hit.
BEAR RIVER 8, SKY VIEW 1
SMITHFIELD — Gehrig Marble batted 3 for 3 with a double and an RBI as Bear River completed a series sweep at Sky View.
Holden Potter batted 3 for 5 with a double and earned the win on the mound for Bear River (16-6, 9-3 Region 11), with one hit and eight strikeouts in six innings. Kolton Summers had two hits and drove in two. Brooks Drollinger hit a sacrifice fly.

NORTH LOGAN — Luci Roche batted 4 for 4 with a double and three RBIs as Bear River won at Green Canyon.
Katelyn Wilson batted 2 for 3 with a double and four RBIs, and pitched three innings with two hits and five strikeouts for Bear River (12-6, 5-3 Region 11). Cora Miller added an RBI double and Kendyl Archibald drove in two.

MORGAN — Morgan swept Ogden in a doubleheader.
In the first game, Morgan (14-6, 5-2 Region 13) scored 16 runs in the fifth inning. Joesi Kelly batted 2 for 4 with a home run and five RBIs . Summer Bangerter hit two doubles and drove in one.
Kayia Peterson had two hits and four RBIs. Callie Averett batted 2 for 4 with one RBI and earned the win with two hits and two strikeouts in two innings.
Aracely DeLeon batted 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI for Ogden (4-10, 2-6). Abby Thompson and Adrianna Martinez each had a hit and scored a run.
In the second game, Averett batted 3 for 3 and pitched five innings with two hits and two strikeouts. Eva Birkeland, Peterson and Stacey George each hit a double and a single, with George Birkeland driving in two runs apiece. Kelly and Gwen Rickard each had two hits.
DeLeon had a hit and scored a run for Ogden. Madison Arney got the other Tiger hit and Jasee Anderson drove in DeLeon.
