Prep roundup: Bonneville wins twice to keep pace in Region 5 softball

ROY — Chandlyr Noble batted 3 for 5 with a double and two RBIs, and pitched a complete game allowing eight hits and striking out one, as Bonneville won 15-4 at Roy in five innings Tuesday.

Mylee Pedersen hit a home run and drove in four for Bonneville (15-2, 9-1 Region 5). Annie Stevenson hit a three-run double. Morgan Rich hit two singles.

Izabel Cline batted 4 for 4 with one RBI and pitched 6 2/3 innings of relief for Roy (2-15, 2-8). Lorelai Sherrod and Aviee Gomez each hit a double.

BONNEVILLE 15, NORTHRIDGE 0

MORGAN — Aya Larson batted 2 for 3 with a home run, and double and five RBIs to lead Bonneville to a five-inning win Monday at Northridge.

Baylee Andreasen batted 3 for 4 with a double and drove in two for Bonneville. Kaylee McAfee hit a double and drove in three. Chandlyr Noble gave up three hits and struck out five in a complete game.

Braylyn McClell hit a double for Northridge (3-10, 2-5). MaKaybree Nay and Ellie Martinez each hit a single.

BOX ELDER 6, BOUNTIFUL 1

BOUNTIFUL — Justy Pritchard batted 2 for 4 and drove in two as Box Elder handed Bountiful (17-3, 9-1 Region 5) its first region loss.

Kailee Hall batted 2 for 3 and scored three runs for Box Elder (15-4, 7-2). Alexis Hales hit an RBI single. Kellie Malin pitched a complete game with seven hits and seven strikeouts in the win.

FARMINGTON 4, DAVIS 3

FARMINGTON — Farmington scored one run in the bottom of the seventh inning to grab a walkoff win over Davis.

Madison Kelker hit a two-run home run and pitched a complete game, allowing five hits and striking out two for Farmington (8-5, 4-1 Region 1). Lola Ogzewalla batted 3 for 3 and drove in one. Ruby Andrus hit an RBI single.

Chloe Parry batted 2 for 3 for Davis (11-4, 3-2). Serena Roth hit an RBI single.

CLEARFIELD 8, WOODS CROSS 1

CLEARFIELD — Aly Ridge and Elizabeth Salazar each hit two doubles and drove in one to lead Clearfield past Woods Cross (1-12, 0-10 Region 5).

Addyson Haddock batted 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs for Clearfield (7-10, 4-5). Jenna Lloyd hit an RBI double and pitched a complete game with three hits and 10 strikeouts in the win.

MORGAN 16, BEN LOMOND 1

MORGAN 27, BEN LOMOND 0

OGDEN — Morgan (15-7, 7-2 Region 13) swept Ben Lomond (1-12, 0-9) in a doubleheader.

In the first game, Kodi Redmund batted 2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs for Morgan. Kaydence Wardell hit an RBI double. Joesi Kelly drove in two with one single. Summer Bangerter pitched all four innings, allowing one hit and striking out four.

Ofa Arreguin got the lone Ben Lomond hit.

In the second game, Morgan’s Eva Birkeland and Taitley Tesch held Ben Lomond to zero hits in the three-inning game. Gwen Rickard and Joesi Kelly each batted 3 for 3 with a double and combined for six RBIs. Callie Averett hit two doubles and drove in four. Kaydence Wardell hit two singles and had five RBIs.

McKynzee Anderson drew a walk for Ben Lomond.

LAYTON — Brenner Olson batted 3 for 3 with two doubles and three RBIs as Davis won at Layton.

Seth Jarmin hit a solo home run for Davis (13-4, 5-2 Region 1). Owen Talbot batted 3 for 3 with a double and two RBIs. Jaxon Marble went 2 for 5 with a double and drove in two. Andrew Filimoehala earned the win, striking out five and allowing one hit in five innings.

Fish Manning batted 2 for 2 for Layton (9-7, 2-5). Will Hoffman hit an RBI single. Tanner Neil drew two walks and scored two runs.

FREMONT 13, WEBER 2

PLEASANT VIEW — Logan Penland hit 3 for 3 with a triple, a double, two RBIs and four runs scored as Fremont put away Weber in five innings.

Garet Jones hit 2 for 4 with three RBIs for Fremont (12-5, 5-2 Region 1). Jace Hadley hit 2 for 4 and stole two bases. Tony Marziale struck out seven and walked zero in four innings to pick up the win.

Eastyn Barker batted 3 for 3 and scored a run for Weber (6-11, 2-4). Dax Rhees and Jarett Hill each drove in one run.

BEAR RIVER 13, LOGAN 2

GARLAND — Degan Rigby earned the win by striking out seven and allowing two hits four innings, and batted 2 for 3 with a triple, a double and an RBI, as Bear River beat Logan in five innings.

Gehrig Marble batted 3 for 4 with a triple, a double and three RBIs for Bear River (17-6, 10-3 Region 11). Talon Marble and Brooks Drollinger each drove in two with a single.

BOX ELDER 5, WOODS CROSS 3

WOODS CROSS — Ryan Griffin hit a two-run home run and earned the win in two innings on the mound as Box Elder won Monday at Woods Cross (10-8, 6-1 Region 5).

Damon Rodriguez, Kelton Reyes and Kellen Kohler each hit an RBI single for Box Elder (8-9, 3-4).

CLEARFIELD 10, BOUNTIFUL 0

CLEARFIELD — Colt Chambers batted 2 for 3 with a double and five RBIs as Clearfield blanked Bountiful (7-10, 4-3 Region 5) in five innings Monday.

Jake Ross went 2 for 3 and drove in two for Clearfield (7-11, 3-4). Logan Fenn added two hits and an RBI. Ryan Frei pitched a complete game, striking out six and allowing three hits.

MORGAN 13, OGDEN 2

MORGAN — Ben Harden homered, drove in two runs and scored three as Morgan jumped on Ogden in region play.

Beck Sheffield threw a five-inning complete game for Morgan (15-7, 6-3 Region 13), striking out four, walking zero and allowing four hits. Luke Bauerle drove in three runs and Brigham Spens hit 2 for 3 and scored twice.

Diego DeLeon doubled and had two of four hits for Ogden (9-11, 4-5). Kolton Rich drove in one run.

SALT LAKE CITY — Daniel Fontes had a goal and an assist as St. Joseph finished Region 17 play with a perfect record.

Isiah Flores and Brock Smith also netted for St. Joseph (9-3, 7-0 Region 17). The Jayhawks will earn a first-round bye when the playoff bracket is released Wednesday.

OGDEN 7, SOUTH SUMMIT 1

OGDEN — Jace Rodriguez tallied one goal and two assists to lead Ogden to a win over South Summit.

Gerardo Esquivel added one goal and one assist for Ogden (11-3, 7-2 Region 13). Ben Points, Taylor Pierce, Lincoln Barnes, Adam Jenks and Eli Robinson each netted once. Luis Velasco assisted three goals.

MORGAN 6, SOUTH SUMMIT 0

MORGAN — Beau Johnson had two goals and three assists as Morgan downed South Summit on Monday.

Ronan Ratchford kept the clean sheet for Morgan (12-2, 7-1 Region 13). Nathan Haws, Connor White, Cody Adams and Connor Canfield each netted once.

UTAH MILITARY 5, WENDOVER 0

RIVERDALE — Adrian Botello kept a clean sheet and Ian Patino had two goals and two assists as Utah Military beat Wendover on Monday.

Pedro Flores added one goal and one assist for Utah Military (3-10, 2-6 Region 16). Anthony Nolazco and Adrian Botello each netted once. Christopher Trejo tallied two assists.

Chase Barrett paced Syracuse (11-6, 6-0 Region 1) with 14 kills. Davis Caldwell served four aces. Kayl Beutler had two blocks. Branson Hamblin tallied 13 digs.

Weber (9-10, 2-4) did not report stats.

BOX ELDER 3, ROY 1

ROY — Box Elder won at Roy 18-25, 25-13, 25-17, 25-19.

Box Elder (7-7, 5-5 Region 5) did not report stats.

Dahlen Pontius tallied seven kills for Roy (5-14, 2-8). Finn Nakasone dished 17 assists. Kael Miller had 18 digs and Isaac Burnett added two blocks.

OGDEN 3, BEN LOMOND 0

OGDEN — Ogden swept Ben Lomond 25-18, 25-18, 25-12

Adam Ballard paced Ogden (8-9, 2-3 Region 13) with 12 kills, six digs and served one ace. Gavin Ording tallied four kills, one block and two aces. Keen Crowther added 11 kills and 10 digs.

Ben Lomond (3-14, 0-5) did not report stats.
