PLAIN CITY — Chase Jones batted 3 for 4 with a triple, a double and two RBIs and pitched a complete game with two earned runs, four hits and seven strikeouts to lead Fremont High baseball in a 13-3 region win Tuesday over Weber.

Owen Simkins hit a triple and a double and drove in four for Fremont (12-5, 5-2 Region 1). Brant Koford hit a solo home run. Kasen Pearson and Kurt Dahl each hit a double and a single and combined for three RBIs.

Riley Morris hit a solo home run and a double for Weber (2-13, 1-6). Jace Redd hit a double and Cooper Johnson singled.

DAVIS 15, LAYTON 5

KAYSVILLE — Davis scored two runs in the sixth inning to trigger the run rule in a win over Layton.

Owen Talbot batted 2 for 3 with a double and four RBIs for Davis (12-5, 6-1 Region 1). Stryder Prowse batted 3 for 4 and drove in two. Wally Grant hit two singles and drove in four. Brody McGuire and Cayman Sanchez each added two hits. Croydon Christensen got the win with three strikeouts in one inning of relief.

Will Hoffman hit a solo home run for Layton (6-10, 5-2). Andres Cedeno hit an RBI double. Nik Bielaczyc and Tanner Neil got the other two Lancer hits.

SYRACUSE 8, FARMINGTON 6

FARMINGTON — Syracuse scored three runs in the seventh inning to turn a 6-5 deficit into a region road win at Farmington (4-13, 2-5 Region 1).

Burkon Beus batted 3 for 4 with a solo home run and a double for Syracuse (4-10, 2-5). Easton Hamblin went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI. Dom Johnatakis hit an RBI single. Connor Wilcox got the win with one hit and two strikeouts over 1 1/3 innings of relief.

MORGAN 14, GRANTSVILLE 4

GRANTSVILLE — Morgan plated six runners in the sixth in a run-rule win at Grantsville (10-8, 6-1 Region 13).

Owen Gilson batted 3 for 3 with two triples and five RBIs for Morgan (15-6, 7-2). Luke Bauerle went 2 for 4 with a triple and drove in four. Camron Talbot went 2 for 4 with a double.

Easton Venz batted 2 for 3 and drove in two. George Jensen and Lincoln Gilson each hit an RBI single. Cooper Stuart got the win with three earned runs, four hits and four strikeouts over 3 2/3 innings.

BEAR RIVER 8, POCATELLO-ID 6

POCATELLO, Idaho — Bear River gave up five runs in the sixth inning for a 6-6 tie, then scored the winning runs in the seventh for a win at Pocatello (Idaho).

Dallin Rice hit three doubles and drove in three for Bear River (14-7). Chipper Hawes hit an RBI triple. Thomas Summers hit a double. Holden Potter and Kolten Summers each drove in one.

CLEARFIELD 12, BOUNTIFUL 10

CLEARFIELD — Clearfield went up 9-2 early and held on to create a three-way tie for second in Region 5, defeating Bountiful (9-9, 5-2 Region 5) on Monday.

Logan Fenn helped shut down a late Bountiful push with 1 1/3 scoreless innings to close the game, striking out two and allowing zero hits for Clearfield (9-9, 5-2). Matt Rudman hit 2 for 4 with three RBIs. Colt Chambers doubled and drove in two. Hudson Meyer batted 3 for 4 from the leadoff spot, hitting a double and scoring four runs. Taven Swartz hit 3 for 4 and scored three runs.

NORTHRIDGE 8, ROY 7

ROY — Northridge busted Connor Robinson’s shutout with two outs in the sixth, breaking through for all eight of its runs in the one frame to edge Roy on Monday.

Jon Olsen hit a grand slam in the sixth for Northridge (12-6, 4-3 Region 5). Isaac Anderson batted 2 for 3. Roy scored in the sixth to make it 8-7; with the one-run lead, Kam Shirreffs struck out one in a 1-2-3 bottom of the seventh to close the win for the Knights.

Kaygen Tingey hit 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs for Roy (7-9, 0-6). James Cochran and Logan Vorwaller each had two hits, with Vorwaller and Cache Summers each hitting a double. Jace Barela pitched the final 1 1/3 innings in s scoreless fashion to keep the game close.

MTN CREST 18, WEST FIELD 16

TAYLOR — West Field surrendered seven runs in the top of the seventh to take a region loss Monday to Mountain Crest (12-6, 6-4 Region 11).

Brady Penland hit for the cycle for West Field (11-9, 7-3) while driving in three runs. Kanyon Pratt and Tyce Abbott each doubled and homered, with Pratt totaling four RBIs and Abbott three. Samuel Smith hit 3 for 5 with a double and three RBIs.

DAVIS 9, FARMINGTON 1

KAYSVILLE — Serena Roth hit a two-run double and pitched a three-hitter with one earned run, four walks and 11 strikeouts as Davis won at Farmington.

Chloe Peery and Riley Jaques each batted 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs for Davis (14-6, 5-0 Region 1).

Cambell Christensen hit two singles and drove in two while Jewel Korth added two singles.

Brooklyn Wright hit a solo home run for Farmington (9-6, 2-3). Lola Ogzewalla hit a double and Sophia Strong singled.

FREMONT 8, LAYTON 4

PLAIN CITY — Fremont scored twice in the fourth inning to take an 8-1 lead in a region win over Layton.

Savannah Palmatier batted 3 for 4 with a double and three RBIs for Fremont (6-11, 3-1 Region 1). Adee Johnsen went 4 for 4 and drove in one. Kenadee Dabb batted 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs. Jessica Broadbent and Aly Tobias each hit two singles. Tylee Worrall got the win with four hits, one earned run and three strikeouts in four innings.

Nora Morrow and Lexie Himle each batted 2 for 3 for Layton (1-13, 0-4), with Himle driving in one. Olivia Woodall hit a two-run double.

SYRACUSE 17, WEBER 7

SYRACUSE — Syracuse scored 10 runs in the fourth inning in a big win over Weber.

Brielle Pierce batted 2 for 2 with a double and three RBIs for Syracuse (12-9, 3-2 Region 1). Grace Thomas went 2 for 4 with a double and drove in two. Olivia Harker batted 3 for 4 and scored two runs.

Jazmine Prathan went 2 for 3 and scored four runs. Haydin Giatras earned the win with four earned runs, two hits, three walks and two strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings.

Aliya Rhees batted 2 for 3 with a home run and four RBIs for Weber (3-13, 1-4). Raegan Blaisdell hit a two-run double.

BOX ELDER 17, VIEWMONT 2

BRIGHAM CITY — Alexis Hales hit three of her team’s six home runs and totaled six RBIs, and Box Elder scored 10 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to trigger the run rule in a region win over Viewmont (6-10, 3-5 Region 5).

Kennadie Blackmer hit two home runs and drove in five for Box Elder (20-3, 10-1). Brooke Richards batted 2 for 3 with a home run and two RBIs. Kailee Hall hit a three-run double while Katelyn Oki and Izibel Mason each doubled. Blackmer got the win with three hits, zero earned runs and nine strikeouts.

CLEARFIELD 29, ROY 5

CLEARFIELD — Jenna Lloyd batted 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, a walk, three RBIs and five runs scored, and pitched three innings with no hits and six strikeouts as Clearfield walloped Roy.

Freshman Skylar Davis batted 3 for 4 with two triples, a double and drove in eight for Clearfield (10-6, 7-3 Region 5). Lyla Leonhardt went 3 for 5 with a double and three RBIs. Abbie Hale added three singles and three RBIs. Alexandra Bingham went 2 for 2 with a double and drove in three.

Brynlee Pearl hit a double for Roy (0-13, 0-9). Adrian Good and Lundyn Hearell each singled.

BONNEVILLE 18, NORTHRIDGE 6

LAYTON — Bonneville led 9-3 after three innings, then scored nine more runs in the fourth inning in a region win at Northridge.

Marley Chournos hit a home run and a double and drove in three for Bonneville (5-12, 3-5 Region 5). Ellie Summers batted 2 for 4 with a home run and four RBIs. Andie Elmer hit a two-run home run. Peyton Johnson batted 1 for 1 with a home run, a sacrifice fly, two walks and five RBIs.

Grace Butte batted 3 for 3 with a double and two RBIs for Northridge (5-9, 2-6). Braylynn McClellan hit a double and a single. Kaylee Shirreffs hit an RBI single.

WEST FIELD 11, MTN CREST 1

HYRUM — West Field scored four runs in the top of the fifth inning and held Mountain Crest (6-14, 1-10 Region 11) scoreless to trigger the run rule in a region road win.

Ayzlee Sessions homered, tripled and drove in five for West Field (12-4, 8-3). Rylee Andreasen batted 3 for 4 with a triple, a double and two RBIs. Brylee Leatherwood went 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs. Brinklee Hadley hit an RBI single and got the win with four hits and seven strikeouts.

MORGAN 17, BEN LOMOND 1

MORGAN — Callie Averett pitched a one-hitter with seven strikeouts as Morgan grabbed a three-inning win over Ben Lomond.

Joesi Kelly batted 2 for 2 with a home run, a triple and five RBIs for Morgan (13-5, 6-2 Region 13). Eva Birkeland hit two doubles and drove in one. Kiernee Carter and Kaeson Ervin each hit two singles and drove in three. Stacey George hit a two-run single.

Payton Huff hit a double for Ben Lomond (0-10, 0-9).

UNION 13, OGDEN 2

OGDEN — Ogden scored twice in the first inning to make the score 3-2, then gave up 10 unanswered runs in a five-inning loss to Union (15-6, 6-2 Region 13).

Jill Wood hit a two-run home run for Ogden (5-14, 2-6). Aracely DeLeon, Sophia Edwards and Kenzie George each hit a single.

BOX ELDER 4, BOUNTIFUL 1

BRIGHAM CITY — Kennadie Blackmer homered and pitched three shutout innings to cap a strong Lucy Braegger start and Box Elder pulled even with Bountiful atop Region 5, handing the Redhawks (15-2, 9-1 Region 5) their first region loss Monday.

ROY 1, BONNEVILLE 0

WASHINGTON TERRACE — Colby Frokjer kept a clean sheet and Brayden Buttars found the back of the net in the second half as Roy (7-6, 6-4 Region 5) won at Bonneville (2-11, 2-9).

UTAH MILITARY 4, WENDOVER 0

OGDEN — Freshman Landen Lopez kept a clean sheet and Alfonso Romo scored a brace as Utah Military Academy-Hill Field shut out Wendover (2-11, 2-7 Region 16) at the Spencer Eccles Community Sports Complex.

William Reiner and Christopher Trejo each netted once for Utah Military (6-8, 6-4). Teagan Scharp assisted two goals and Franco Negrete assisted once.

MTN CREST 2, BEAR RIVER 1

GARLAND — After spotting Mountain Crest (5-7, 4-4 Region 11) a 2-0 lead, Ronald Vilcapoma scored in the 69th minute on an assist from Camron Norton and Bear River (2-10, 1-7) fell at home.

PLEASANT VIEW — Syracuse beat Weber 22-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-21.

Gabe Meredith paced Syracuse (19-4, 6-1 Region 1) with 17 kills. Adam Martin tallied four blocks. Chase Barrett had 21 digs and Talon Morris dished out 33 assists.

Weber (9-11, 2-6 Region 1) did not report stats.

DAVIS 3, FARMINGTON 0

FARMINGTON — Davis swept Farmington (12-5, 4-2 Region 1) by scores of 25-15, 26-245, 25-16.

Chase Valentine led Davis (12-5, 6-1) with 12 kills and three blocks. Jacob McCauley added three blocks. Brandon Sims had eight digs and Jack Bennett notched 16 assists.
