Davis remains unbeaten with shutout win

LAYTON — Sophia Barnard scored in the second session of extra time to lift Layton High girls soccer to a 3-2 home win Thursday, handing Corner Canyon (5-1) its first loss.

Amelia Smith netted to get Layton (5-2) on the board and assisted Barnard’s game-winner. Anna Ward scored one goal. Ryann Jensen assisted two goals.

SYRACUSE 2 def. LEHI 2 (3-1 PKs)

LEHI — Syracuse outshot Lehi 3-1 on penalty kicks after ending extra time tied 2-2.

Talia Thompson and Taylee Hughes each netted for Syracuse (5-1). Rilynn Bassett and Jocee Eddy each assisted one goal.

WEST FIELD 3, BONNEVILLE 1

TAYLOR — West Field took a 2-1 lead into the halftime break in a region win over Bonneville

Pressly Weekes, Hallie Wyatt and Brecklyn Bushman each netted once for West Field (4-3, 1-0 Region 5). Andi Patterson assisted one goal.

Kambry Dalton scored for Bonneville (4-1, 1-1), assisted by Natilee Cherry.

BOX ELDER 7, ROY 1

BRIGHAM CITY — Maddison Barber’s hat trick led Box Elder to a region win over Roy.

Taylor Nye had two goals and an assist for Box Elder (3-4, 1-1 Region 5). Halli Wright scored a brace. Kenley Anderson tallied two assists while Emma Nelson and Desarae Elegante each assisted one score.

Roy (2-5, 0-2) scored in the second half.

DAVIS 3, VIEWMONT 0

KAYSVILLE — Kaitlyn Harris kept a clean sheet as Davis shut out Viewmont to remain unbeaten.

Reial Phongsavath, Sammy Maudsley and Lydia Neville each found the back of the net for Davis (6-0). Lexi Barnes and Hannah Neville had one assist apiece.

UTAH MILITARY 8, WEST VALLEY APA 0

WEST VALLEY — Eve Carlson recorded her first career clean sheet and Utah Military Academy-Hill Field scored eight goals in the first half in a big win at American Preparatory Academy-West Valley (0-2, 0-1 Region 16) to open region play Wednesday.

Janae Stewart and Erin May each had three goals and an assist for UMA (1-3, 1-0). Reese Ahlstrom added one goal and one assist. Shayla Polley netted once and Brooklyn Hill assisted one score.

Lauretta Taylor paced Ogden (4-1) with 12 kills and three blocks. Hazel Nadolski had nine kills and six blocks. Macie Richards and Taylor Duke each added nine kills.
