Prep football roundup: Ogden blanks Judge Memorial; Bear River blasts Cottonwood

SALT LAKE CITY — Six different Tigers scored touchdowns and Ogden High football grabbed a 45-0 shutout win Friday at Judge Memorial.
Gavin Shreve returned an interception 30 yards for a touchdown to open the scoring for Ogden (1-1). Anderson Curry scored on a 1-yard run to give Ogden a 14-0 lead late in the first.
At the 5:36 mark of the second quarter, Blake Weston tossed a 33-yard scoring strike to Nash Bockwoldt. Jackson Turner booted a 31-yard field goal just before the break, and the Tigers led 24-0.
Kos Crowther converted a 1-yard dive and Hayden Hanson scored on a 4-yard scamper to give Ogden a 38-0 lead after three quarters. Ty Knowles added a 45-yard punt return touchdown midway through the fourth quarter.
BEAR RIVER 77, COTTONWOOD 0
GARLAND — Rigdon Vonk scored six touchdowns and Bear River got in the win column with a blistering shutout of Cottonwood.
Vonk took a Jaxson Theurer pass 81 yards for a Bear River (1-1) touchdown, and scored on runs of 4, 29, 4, 2 and 22 yards. Theurer also threw touchdowns passes of 17 yards to Eli Braegger and 25 yards to Dallin Rice.
Korver Riley returned an interception 15 yards for a touchdown. Preston Wilkinson scored on a 28-yard quarterback keeper and tossed a 15-yard scoring strike to Riley Bingham to cap the scoring. The Bears led 70-0 at the half.
MORGAN 35, SKY VIEW 27
SMITHFIELD — Morgan raced out to a 35-3 lead at the half and survived a spirited Sky View comeback bid for a road win.
Cade Randall got Morgan (1-1) on the board with a 16-yard touchdown pass to Eli Mortensen. Brody Peterson turned a Randall pass into a 54-yard score and, after a Sky View field goal, Randall and Mortensen connected for a 45-yard scoring strike to give the Trojans a 21-3 lead after one quarter.
Randall tossed his fourth scoring strike to Jack Hurd from 5 yards out, then George Thurston scored Morgan’s last points with 32 seconds left in the first half.
Sky View scored 24 unanswered points and was driving for a potential tying score when Morgan forced and recovered a fumble with less than 1 minute left.
BRIGHTON 38, WEBER 31
COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS — Dyson Parker returned a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown to give Weber a 21-7 lead late in the first quarter, but the Warriors couldn’t hold that lead in a loss at Brighton.
Parker opened the scoring for Weber (0-2) with a 61-yard run. Carter Payne and Josh Hamblin connected for a 40-yard scoring strike and the Warriors led 14-0.
Zach Jenkins booted a 34-yard field goal to give Weber a 24-14 lead with 7:20 left in the first half, then Brighton responded with 17 consecutive points.
Payne found Creed DeVries for a 13-yard score to tie the gamer at 31-31 with 3:57 left in the third quarter, But Brighton used a 5-yard run to take the lead for good early in the fourth.
Payne completed 24 of 43 pass attempts for 283 yards. Hamblin caught five passes for 95 yards and Brock Dean had seven receptions for 76 yards. Parker rushed 13 times for 87 yards and caught five balls for 55 yards.
STANSBURY 53, BONNEVILLE 20
STANSBURY PARK — Paden Toula tossed a 4-yard touchdown pass to Ashton Spackman to move Bonneville into a 13-13 tie with 9:22 left in the first half, then Stansbury responded with six straight touchdowns for a big win.
A Toula-to-Spackman 2-yard pass gave Bonneville (0-2) an early 6-0 lead. Touls found Lincoln Wright for a 35-yard touchdown to cap the scoring with 1:24 left in the game.
