BRIGHAM CITY — West Field High boys basketball won the final frame 17-6 to claim region-opening road win Tuesday at Box Elder.

Daxton Laughter led all scorers with 15 points and two 3-pointers for West Field (6-4, 1-0 Region 5). Jaden Fowers added 14 points with four treys. Cason Malan scored 11 points with three 3-pointers. The Longhorns made six two-point baskets and 10 3-pointers.

Jaxson Jeppsen led Box Elder (4-7, 0-1) with 13 points. Eli Gilmore tallied 12 points and Gunnar Gunderson scored eight points with two 3-pointers.

HOLLADAY — Karter Miller scored a game-high 26 points with six 3-pointers but it wasn’t enough as Layton fell to Pleasant Grove and the Vikings won the Utah Autism Classic at Olympus High.

LAVERNE, Calif. — Layton Christian Academy used a 24-12 third quarter to blow the game open in a win over Roosevelt (Eastvale, California) in the Classic at Damien late Monday.

Roman Avdejev led Layton Christian (12-1) with 22 points. Joost Dalgaard added 16 points and Gabriel Sularski scored 13. The trio combined to convert 22 of 27 field goal attempts. The Eagles shot 61% (30 of 49) from the field.
